I went last week Sunday , The man at the counter did something I never encountered before . I gave a 20 my change consisted of a 5, a 1, and change . Now he’s a very tall guy , and his tip cup is a clear drinking cup . I say you didn’t give me change , I served for many years and I would have given 6 singles , so I look at the tip jar whilst he’s looking confused . And I say you have 4 dollars I take the 4 put in 5 and the 1 , I walk away he calls me back over to see something . This gentleman manually opens my hand, while saying he knew had 4 dollars . A five is more than four dollars once he saw that , wouldn’t have that been enough ? Also just count the money I haven’t had gotten the meal yet, check the tip jar while I’m getting water . I wouldn’t risk losing a meal for a 4 dollar slight of hand. I came in excited to try Peruvian chicken , left after being profiled . So yea thanks. Didn’t even eat the food, I’ve been privileged to say I haven’t felt racism till this. Guess I met one of the 55% . I deleted a review 3 times bc my foreign parents owned a small shop, i felt the same weight of being othered , when my father scolded me for not selling food to a person who didn’t have enough...
Read moreLet me say that the food is wonderful. But, here is the downside. When the flippin chicken opened up, they had nice big salads and nice big portions of fries suitable for a family of 4. We always get the family mean. We would get the family mean at least once a week. BUT, the portions started becoming smaller and smaller. We were there last week. Sadly, the portions of fires are now just really onlly for one of my kids. The salads are now single side salads. Sure, you can pay extra and get more, which we did, but then the price is going well beyound $67 for a family of 4. If you were there when the first opened, then you reazlize the portions are 1/4 of what they were when the place opened its doors. Lastly, the service when down considerably. We were use to happy faces and a chearful and helpful staff. This last time? I had to go back to many times asking for forks, sauce, and things that were normally just given to us. It seems that maybe they are shorting the customers now on the portions as well as service. Dissappointing to say the lease. We are looking for another Peruvian restaurant now. To costly for the single portions given in the family meal, and the service...
Read moreHad driven by this restaurant and decided to go out of our way today to give it a try. I must say, we are so glad that we did. I had the Chicken tenders and my wife tried the rice and chicken bowl. I must say that we are connoisseurs of chicken tenders and these do not disappoint. They are lightly breaded, which was a plus. The breading/chicken was perfectly spiced and cooked. The white meat was tender and juicy. The rice bowl was fantastic. Obviously, super fresh ingredients used. Be sure to try the Peruvian yellow sauce with the chicken tenders or the rice bowl. It’s difficult to describe the taste , but it is the perfect compliment to the chicken. As a side note…try the plantains. Delicious! The restaurant was very clean also and staff is super friendly. Next time we go we will save room for dessert because their choices look amazing. Thanks Flippin Chicken from a chicken...
