Etsy in real life! That’s what The Painted Tree is and it’s awesome. This place is a gem that hasn’t seemed to have quite caught the attention of everyone’s eyes yet as it wasn’t too busy and doesn’t seem too busy yet. There is everything you can imagine in there for gifts, clothes, art, decor, home goods, local specific finds and so much more. That place is like heaven for someone who loves to walk and shop. My mom and I basically got lost trying to make sure we saw every shop there. Although we didn’t quite find what we had gone in to look for we found lots of ideas for future gifts and look forward to seeing how this place takes off. There’s still room for lots more local businesses from what I could tell. It’s like farmers market mixed with Etsy. I can guarantee if you just want to take an afternoon to look around and get some steps in while in AC. I recommend this place. I hope that they can rotate some of the products often cause I’d love to go back and see what else gets put...

I’ve been going to this shop for years and I have always loved it, however recently I have been disappointed to see the abundance of AI generated images being marketed to unsuspecting customers for absurd prices. As both an artist and a small business owner, it has been extremely disheartening to see. AI art is extremely harmful to real artists and devalues the years of practice, unique vision, skill and experience that human artists work hard for. It is also extremely misleading to customers who believe they are paying for real, high quality art. Some poorly made AI images were behind sold for $30-$40 and marketed as authentic art being sold by a small business.
