I recently moved to the area and looked online to see what restaurants had a lunch special so I stopped by here today. It was easy to find, it's in the same building as a Publix along with other small businesses so plenty of parking. There are some booths and tables that fit four people. My infant was with it, I didn't see any high chairs but I didn't need one. I ordered one of their lunch thaali specials with paneer Tikka masala. I got it medium spicy, which was the perfect level for me - left my mouth a little tingly, but I wasn't in dire need of water. The special comes with basmati rice, naan, and a samosa. I also received a papadum, tamarind and mint chutney, and a gulab jamun. It was more food than I could eat so I had to pack some after; a grown man could finish it and be full but not stuffed. I think my favourite thing was the samosa; it came piping steaming hot and had a perfect spice level. The naan was delicious, fluffy and had a great butter flavour. I was given a menu since I ate there, but it's super easy to order online or order take out when you enter. I didn't see a drinks section on the menu, but they have a mini fridge with cans of various sodas and I saw mango lassi available. I can't wait to bring my husband here since he's a fan of North Indian cuisine and I'd like to see how their biryani is. The woman that served me was very sweet and attentive. The seating area has a TV and was playing Bollywood pop music videos, which was really fun to watch/listen to.

UPDATE!!! I've been going here since the beginning. I think 6 years or so. They now have new ownership so things have definitely changed. They have completely remodeled the inside and it's more of a counter service and sit down place. The menu is different and the prices have definitely gone up which is unfortunate because one of the great things about the original owners was that the food was consistently good and prices were lower than usual compared to other Indian restaurants. However, the butter chicken I had with the new ownership was really tasty. Service was good and it seems like they were going out of their way to build a good impression which is commendable. With all that said, I would definitely go here again but it's not the same place at all so adjust your expectations to previous experiences. Okay, WOW! What a pleasant surprise. So excited to finally have a legit Indian restaurant in the Roswell / Woodstock area. I tried the aloo tikki Chaat and your typical chicken tikka masala Curry lunch special just to try things out and was very happy with the quality and taste. This is chef level food at very decent prices. The owner is a super nice guy who is actually the chef. He makes the meals made-to-order so everything is fresh and hot. I'll definitely plan on coming back.

This review is way overdue!!! Aroma is mine and my husband's little slice of Heaven. Anyone that knows us, knows our love for Tikka Masala, and specifically from Aroma. We initially found them out of convenience - we were craving Indian and barely had to drive 1 mile to give it a shot. 4 years and one move later, and we are still HOOKED. We are now about half an hour away, but feel it's absolutely worth it. We have never, not once, had a bad experience. We know it's a small family business, and you can really feel that a lot of love goes into making each dish. We especially love the Tikka Masala, garlic naan and samosas (pictured), and Korma! I had to force myself to take a picture this time so I could do a quality review- every other time, we eat it before I remember to snap a pic! They are always so consistent in their quality and taste! We miss picking it up in person, as they are warm and welcoming! Not sure how there could be any haters. Sure, not every thing can be everyone's cup of tea. That's one thing. But don't come here to be negative. We take it personal :) BEYOND five stars!! Much love, A&K

FINALLY my wife and I found our Indian food spot in our area!! I am so happy right now I can't see straight. The fact that I can't see straight could be because of the level of heat I ordered. Ooowee!!! (We will get to that in a minute) First of all RUN to this place. I don't say that on all of my reviews. If I do, JUST TRUST ME! This is a well kept secret. I say that because you can't see it well from the road and you just have to know it's there. The only way we found it was because of Yelp. And the reviews. There is a theme to all of the good reviews that propelled me to come here. This is Punjabi North Indian Cuisine at it's best I'd argue versus anywhere in Atlanta. When you come in, the heavenly smells of spice hits you even before you open the door. The smells become even more heavenly when you step inside. We were greeted by the owners Anoop and Vandi I believe who were absolutely lovely. When I try an Indian restaurant for the first time, I always go for the classics. Tonight was chicken Korma and chicken Vindaloo. You have your choice of heat. If you say hot you get American hot or Indian hot. I said "light me up", so Indian hot it was! There are now three ways I know it's HOT! 1) when my nose runs like a faucet, 2) when I start burping and now 3) when the chef/ owner Anoop pokes his head out and says "this is how hot I like it!" Wow! Can he cook! "ANOOP HOT!" This food was absolutely amazing!! So much flavor which is the hallmark of Indian cuisine. I tasted every ounce of pride. I am never more happy than when I'm in a place that's 100% about the food. I don't like fussy or pretentious. Aroma is not fancy. It doesn't need to be. The flavor of their food took me to the moon tonight and it speaks for itself. I will be talking about this place for days! On my next visit, I plan to ask Anoop to just order for me. I know he will knock my socks off. RUN to this restaurant and order it "Anoop...

The reviews are pretty misleading to start with or maybe today was not one of those days for the chefs on- duty today. With lot of excitement I ordered for take out (Butter chicken, chicken biriyani & paneer tak a tak) because there’s no Indian cuisine around the Northeast Cobb/ Roswell area! But to my disappointment it was nothing but below average!! In more than 12 years I have found no Indian restaurants in the Atlanta metro area that blew away my mind so my expectations aren’t super high! But I guess I’ll wait for my occasional trips to Alpharetta/ Johns Creek area or maybe just stick to specific dishes from specific Indian places in Marietta / Cumberland area! What I got today is no where close to what butter chicken or biriyani is and the paneer appetizer OMG - what the heck was that! My children ended up saying please don’t get food from here ever again!

Updated : So I can see you have responded to my review but I can't respond to that so adding it here. You have sort of made an assumption based on my name that I am not exposed to the diversity of Indian cuisine. You don't know me and you don't know where all I have lived growing up in India and being surrounded with a diverse community, thus being exposed to enough to provide a feedback. As a thorough professional when we get a feedback its important to not let ego take over because that's where we stop learning. There is no end to learning and improvising. Instead of personally attacking me and my knowledge and exposure maybe you could have dug deeper to understand what could have been better? Good luck on your venture and I hope you keep improvising. Everyone deserves a chance and I will again try out few months later. I have no personal grudge against your restaurant and will positively give a good feedback when I experience it! Have a...
