From the web site they showed a few good plate presentations. When I visited for lunch and ordered the Thai Jungle there was no wow effect at all when the plate was placed in front of me....I would expect that at most of the restaurants I visit. And it happens to be what I search for....looking for talent, creativity, eye appeal, and most of all mysterious flavors plus some.

This Thai Jungle dish did not do it for me! For a side dish it came with a vegetable spring roll and sweet and sour sauce.

Because I found an interest in the Duck and whole Fried Red Snapper I returned later that evening and ordered take out of Fried Red Snapper and asked to leave the sauce and garnish on the side uncooked, I will cook it when I get home. Fried Red Snapper was fried well wrapped in aluminum foil and placed in a white styrofoam to go container, sauce and garnishes of diced red and green peppers and white onions were put into small 1oz or 2oz clear plastic cups and the sauce put in a 1 cup clear container.

Things were fine when I got home, I put the fish in the oven at 300 degrees to keep it warm while I heated up the sauce and brown rice. What I discovered on Spice of Thai web site it shows garnishes of broccoli and cilantro that I did not get. Was kinda of disappointed about that and just took it in stride.

The sauce I discovered is pretty much a bottle of hot chili sauce (sweet and sour with chili oil added kind) that had no wow factor again at all!

Because of that I give Spice of Thai Restaurant a three out of five probably a two but the servers were pretty nice and welcoming.

Happy...

I am amending my initial review. I just ordered masaman curry and the shrimp 🍤 pad thai for delivery. The curry was very nice, full of flavor profiles. I had several spoons of the sauce after my first taste. I definitely recommend it. The shrimp in the pad thai were very fresh with a very mild sweet note. Choice. The noodles were ok and worth it.

Initial review: Decent is my takeaway. Of the three Thai restaurants in close proximity on Crossville, this is the better. The food was good, not great, and not super flavorful. It seemed like the flavors/spice were muted. I even asked for spicy and it just wasn't. The menu and the varied with appealing options. I will give it another go just to make sure it wasn't an off night. It is good enough for another run.

The interior and decor are pleasing and comfortable ✨️.

What I didn't quite understand was how slow the service was, without that many other patrons. I found myself looking around, wondering when the server was going to come over and I am...

--- 2024 update ---

It's clear that the ownership here has changed. Table service has declined and the man at the register is pushy for tips, even for pick up orders. Seriously, what service is involved in carrying the food from the kitchen to the register? Pretty sure it's the restaurant's job to get the food into your hands to earn their payment. That was the final straw for my husband (a former server) who refuses to eat there again. It's a real pity as we've been customers for 15+ years and the food is still good. But there are too many other good Thai places in Roswell.

--- 2016 review --- Spice of Thai has become my go-to Thai place in Roswell. Their soups are a pleasant surprise in that they actually put a bunch of ingredients (as opposed to a couple of sad mushrooms floating around). Favorites are the curries and stir fries, particularly the Thai Jungle. Good deal at lunch but dinner prices are also reasonable compared to other Thai restaurants...

It was our first visit. Let me start with the service, it was impeccable. When our server was busy, 2 other servers refilled our drinks and cleared dishes. The staff were professional and friendly. I haven't had such great service in so long, I can't actually remember. We started with Fresh Garden Rolls and Shrimp Bikini for appetizers. They were incredible but the dipping sauces were what made the dish. 3 Flavor Snapper (beyond Thai hot) and Pa-Nang grilled shrimp (mild) were our entrees. The Snapper was tasty and the heat was there, but not what I had hoped, so our server brought some fresh sliced peppers in lime juice for me and that did the trick to give me the burn I was looking for. We had sweet tea and Thai tea for drinks, both were excellent. Dessert was a single scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream. It was a perfect ending to one of the best meals I have had dining out in years. Really impressed with Spice of Thai.

5 stars! Unexpected gem of a place, especially since we just picked randomly based on proximity. (Emory Urgent Care, Wellstar Emergency, Kroger, and Goodwill). The ambiance felt like we were going for a date night dinner instead of a quick lunch. It was a little dim and cozy; chill and laidback for the lunch hour with instrumental playing in the background. There were very pretty decorations on the wall, too, with framed detailed sequenced artworks. The food was top-notch! Though I may be partial since I like a good rice dish. The flavor and proportion were just right. It wasn't oily (fried rice), and the saltiness paired well with the plain fried tofu. Good for vegetarians, too, since you can just have tofu for your meat. What surprised me the most was the available changing table on their womens restroom! Especially since it was a pretty small establishment. Big plus for families bringing their babies!
