I'll start my review by saying that we never got to actually order food - but we were super excited and wanted to. I had heard about this newer Louisiana style restaurant and my husband and I were SO excited to be able to try it out. This past Alive at 5 we made the walk down Canton Street with our 8 month old daughter and walked in to get a table. There were many, many empty tables still and maybe only two or three groups seated outside. We asked to be seated outside and were seated quickly. After that moment, we were completely ignored. We sat there, picked out what we wanted to order and waited....and waited...and waited...no one stopped by to say, "sorry, be right with you!" or offer us waters or anything. With a young baby, every minute that passes feels like forever. We saw a server come out and literally serve the outside tables beside ours, but once again - they never acknowledged us. It felt pretty crummy as we were REALLY looking forward to it. After about 15-20 minutes of sitting in the hot weather with our infant, we just stood up and left disappointed. I understand if there was a staffing issue - but the real problem was the lack of being acknowledged or not being served even waters in the hot weather. We walked over to Standard, which was absolutely slammed, and were seated and served food within 15 minutes...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to try the brunch because we were starving and Gracious Plenty across the street had a long wait. Upon entering, we were not greeted and the restaurant was nearly empty. We sat at the bar where there were several employees who completely ignored us for 2-3 minutes. The bartender finally came over and handed us waters and menus unenthusiastically. She then went to the end of the bar to have a conversation with another customer for well over 5 minutes. She finally came back to ask us what we wanted and we gave our order. I ordered an omelette with potatoes and my wife got the petite nawlins which is a pancake, bacon and one egg. We waited over 25 minutes for the food. In a nearly empty restaurant, this is unacceptable. The food was nasty, the eggs were raw on the inside and brown/burnt on outside, the potatoes and pancake were cold. The bartender was still conversating with the same customer at end of bar the whole time and didn’t check on us and our food until we were half way done. My wife had to get up and get her own salt shaker from the opposite end of bar. This restaurant just completely sucks overall, the bartender seemed more concerned with socializing with an old man to get him to tip then to check on others. Stay away! Worst restaurant in...

Stopped in for breakfast as we are staying nearby.
Waited over ten minutes for someone to come and offer us drinks, and another ten minutes just for coffee. Restaurant was not busy, maybe two other tables besides us and we were the only tables outside with our two pets as we made sure to arrive early to beat the crowds.
Although staff was friendly and nice, service was just really slow and the fact that coffee was not ready at breakfast time was really disappointing. Syrup comes in small to go containers that was difficult to open and when I opened mine syrup erupted everywhere and got all over my clothes. Not sure why they use to go containers for syrup instead of syrup dispensers? Food was not hit when served, and shredded hash browns looked like mush. Was not shredded but looked flattened and smushed. I don’t think we’ll visit here again.

Ithink I love this place. Brunch menu was fantastic! Beautiful building inside and out, plenty of room and what really makes it special for me is it’s dog friendly. The whole ambiance was really great. Would have liked a little more attention from our waiter but it was brunch time and busy. Can’t wait to return and try their lunch and...
