Lomeli's Rosticeria — Restaurant in Round Lake Beach

I have been here about 8 times over the last few years. The food is usually pretty good. The service has a lot to be desired. Most of the wait staff speaks really poor English. Because of this you have to really watch what they charge you. Here's an example; Last time there I ordered tacos. I asked the waitress if they came with refried beans. She looked at me funny and said beans yes. I said OK, I want the beans on the side OK? Response beans yes. So when the food comes I have the tacos with a big plate of beans on the side. The bill comes and they have charged me $2.00 extra for the beans. I call the waitress over and she is confused by why I want the beans taken off the bill. You say beans she says, you have beans. So now I have to wait for another waitress that speaks English to come over so I can explain the issue. It was like a Laurel and Hardy skit. This is typical with them. If you don't speak Spanish they have a really hard time understanding what you are saying or ordering. Another time the same thing happened but on a different dish. If you go about a half mile away to Los Comales on Rollings road the food is better there, they have great service, speak English well, and the food is less expensive. I will NEVER eat here again!I will tell everyone I know to not give them their business.I never write reviews & choose to let things be bc I have worked in CS & restaurants before.However, this establishment is rude & unprofessional. I have never had a problem with them in person but 3x I have used Grubhub to order from them the messed everything up.I finally decided to address it with them.The lady who claimed she was the manager 1st blamed the driver, then the app, and the got agitated & stories started to conflict.I told her that I was unwilling to get charged $50 for food i NEVER RECIEVED & the other half was all wrong!She refused to take ownership of any of the times.Kept blaming driver who also speaks Spanish (like myself).Had him on 3way & she kept insisting he lied & he messed up order. We got a refund from Grubhub.We tried to call back & to our surprise the phone was not taking our calls.I will NEVER go here again & disappointed in CS & of people in my culture who act like this. Shame on them for charging people for food not received. And mind you the first 2x it was only a difference of $5.This time over $50. My fiancé and I ordered food and was told it would be ready in 20 mins. We arrived about 25-30 mins after ordering and was told they didn’t have an order in our name. Then the lady working there told us “are you sure you ordered from us and not another restaurant”. My fiancé told the lady when we ordered you answered saying it was Lomeli’s and we showed her our phone with their phone number and the time and she said we don’t have an order for you. When we asked to speak to the manger they said he wasn’t there but would be there shortly. So we waited and we asked how long it would be to speak to him or a number we can reach him at. The lady just brushed us off. I’ve had so many problems with this place. One day the charge me for extra salsa and another day they don’t. They gave my food away and expected me to wait to make mine again. Gave me the wrong order. Ignore me for 5-10 mins before they attend me as I stand at the entrance where one picks up their food for take out. Food open and spilled in the bag.
