Sammie's — Restaurant in Round Lake Beach

Let me start by saying that their food is great (a bit too oily but great), and that this review has nothing to do with their food quality but more so their management, problem solving skills, and wording in their menu. I ordered a steak dinner since everything else was labeled within a type of “sandwich”, and I did not want to order something with bread. Now nowhere on their dinner menu at the restaurant stated that dinners are also sandwiches, only that it came with French fries and coleslaw. When the order came, I tried to explain this misunderstanding to them and was told to “just remove the bread”. The issue here is that the bread wasn’t just the only thing wrong with the order, but the fact that the meat inside of the sandwich was also “sandwich meat” aka ground meat that is put together in a patty, and when you order a dinner you expect steak to just be steak, not ground beef.

I didn’t want to make a big fuss and took the loss, but the man that was working there was simply rude, and gave 0 f’s about trying to listen to the customer. Either ways, seems like the girls working there were super nice but this dude is just… wow. Rude.

Suggestion: maybe fix the menu in person as I can see that the online menu clearly states that “dinners” (an American standard, nationwide known as a “plate”)...

Thought it was going to be better and cheaper was told it was It really wasn't that bad but it was just different The beefs didn't taste like normal beefs but they did throw a lot of gyro meat on there so you might want to ask for an extra pita but it was almost 40 bucks and that was just my mom and dad not even my order yet but yeah so I came to over 50 bucks for two beefs with mozzarella and peppers One of those was a meal and then got a gyro meal and they upgraded it for a $1.75 to shake instead of a regular drink and it came to over $50 which is pretty outrageous I think but hey my dad's diabetic we had to eat something fast and it was done The gyro was good though Great service my beautiful ladies and a variety of different shakes from Cherry,banana , pineapple, etc . Which disappoints me I got a banana and cherry shake It was pretty good and I ended up leaving it outside the car because a handful of napkins flew out of my hand so when I went to grab them cuz I don't like littering some of them were behind the stinkiest garbage can Cuz we were parked a little next to it and ended up seeing a crack pipe on the ground behind the garbage can kind of threw me off a little bit and I guess I forgot my shake on the ground disappointing on both parts but I'm glad some kid didn't...

No cheese came on my sammie even though it clearly states it does…when I called they denied it..

I ordered a veggie submarine . Described as “Garden Fresh Veggies served with American and mozzarella cheese, red onions, lettuce, tomato and pickle and cucumbers with your choice of mustard, mayo, or Italian dressing on fresh baked French bread.” It did NOT come with cheese. It clearly says American AND mozzarella. I never call and complain. But spending $6.50 for bread and veggies , and no cheese was not what I wanted. When I called, they said I was suppose to select the cheese I wanted when I ordered online. They did not offer to make it “right.” AND just FYI when you order online, there is ONLY a comment button.
