I was so excited for them to open up a location in Round Rock so I would not have to drive to North Austin to get my fix.
As someone who has some health issues its not always easy for me to drive and get food from them. I was so shocked to see not only did they increase prices on delivery apps, but they also tacked on a 20% fee for all "to go" orders. Not gonna lie it felt a little discriminatory.
When I was finally able to go through the drive through myself the woman taking the order would frequently cut me off midsentence and tell me they did not have the things I wanted. She was VERY impatient and her tone made it very clear that she did not really want to take my order.
My partner ended up going inside less than 5 minutes later and what a shock they had the items we were told they were out of ready to go.
I don't know why they seem to dislike and discriminate against "to go"/drvie through customers, but I wish they would remember that some folks aren't as easily able to drive to or go inside the small location so maybe don't install a drive through window or put your store on delivery apps if you are going to punish less abled people for using those options.
They also really need to fire the lady running the drive through. Looking at other reviews for this location I can see I am not the only person she wants to take out her frustration on.
I really wish they were better members of our community and actually realized not everyone is fully able bodied. Its called the food SERVICE industry for a reason. If you are going to provide subpar service and discriminate and be rude to members of your community for simply existing and trying to support your business, you don't belong in the community or the service industry.
I will continue to support the North Austin location when I can as they appreciate the "to go" customers using the drive through and they also don't skimp out on the cheese on the sausage and cheese kolaches which is my only complaint about the food at this location, it's almost...
Read moreKolaches were okay, and there’s a big variety to choose from. The girl grabbed mine off the shelf and asked me if I wanted them heated up so I said, sure. Then she put my kolaches in a to-go bag and threw them in a microwave under the counter. I’m not sure what I expected, but it wasn’t this. Maybe keep the fact that you’re microwaving the customer’s food a trade secret and not do it in front of them. Huge turn-off. They also are unable to print off receipts and do the whole “all the business is done on an iPad” thing which is pretty annoying. The kid working the counter had a real IDGAF attitude. I don’t recommend this...
Read moreI'm not really sure I know all the details concerning the other comments on here, I just legitimately think Lone Star Kolaches aren't very good. Ordered three of the sweet ones (peach, blueberry, and raspberry) and they're as basic as basic can be. It's basically canned fruit (or maybe preserves?) on almost flavorless bread. There's nothing original about any of the three flavors and they definitely don't motivate me to come back and try anything else from here.
Austin has some pretty damn-good kolache places, but Lone Star isn't...
