Came here while visiting the Round Rock area on a weekend. The place was extremely crowded, but the line was moving quickly as they had about 5 people taking orders. It was probably even more crowded inside as it was a chilly night and not anyone was sitting on the large patio.
I liked how the menu was nice and simple as they focus on burgers, hot dogs, and shakes. Ordered the Classic burger with everything, but added jalapenos and mushrooms. Also ordered some chili fries, chili cheese dog, frings (fries and onion rings in 1 order), and a strawberry shake. I wanted to eat there so it was fresh, but had to order everything to go. Due to that, the food pictures won't do the food justice as the house was about 10 minutes away. After ordering, they give you a buzzer and bring it out when the order is ready. Although it was crowded, the food was ready within 10 minutes. The food runner was very efficient and was basically sprinting out each order.
Even after the food sitting on the way to the house, it was still warm and had good flavor. The chili would've definitely tasted better hot as the chili and cheese began to gel together. However, you could still taste the good flavor in all the food. My favorite was the shake as it wasn't impacted much from the drive. I will definitely come back and eat in to enjoy it...
Read moreI used to like going to the Mighty Fine Burgers in Round Rock, but then they started over-cooking their burgers so we stopped going. We go there now about once every 6 months or so to see if they are any better. We went there today and the burgers are still overcooked.
The last time I went there I told them that I wanted my burger cooked less because the time before it was overcooked. When I received it, it was still overcooked so I told them about it. They said they would give me another one, and they gave me a burger that was half raw. It seemed as if they were doing that on purpose since the middle was literally raw. That was about 8 months ago.
Today's burger was overcooked again, but I didn't bring it to their attention. I know why it is that way. it is because they cook a lot of burgers upfront so they can serve the customers faster. I could see them all piled up on the grill. We were served quickly.
One note is that a customer next to me commented that there aren't many people in the restaurant for a Saturday. The manager replied back that he thought it was due to a football game. I thought it was because people aren't so anxious to have an overcooked burger. They used to be so nice and juicy that the bun would fall apart. Now...
Read moreCheeseburger was great. Very disappointed in the service. We arrived 30 minutes prior to posted closing time, and the sign said they were open. Chairs were up on the tables. The general attitude was that we were bothering them and they were cleaning up like they were closed. In addition to the burger, we also ordered the chili dog. It was obvious it was not fresh. 10 minutes after ordering, received our meal, and the melted cheese on top of the dog was cold and congealed already.
A gentleman walked in 10 minutes after us. The worker who appeared to be the shift manager scowled and shook his head talking to his staff. Customer ordered, waited for his food, and when the service worker handed it to him, she stood in front of him, looked at her watch, and shook her head. In my opinion if you're going to close at 8:30, post it at 8:30 but serve people until 8:30. Don't disrespect the customer because they came in during posted open hours. It's a walk-in restaurant, not a fine dining establishment.
It really should be a two-star based on the service. If I could give less than one star for service I would. However, the food other than the chili dog was pretty good.
Would probably give them one more chance, but not at this location. ...
