Sarena's Breakfast & Donuts — Restaurant in Round Rock

We showed up about 10:45-11:00am and the shelf of donuts as you walk in was almost completely empty. Now , I gave this a 5 * rating , it very well could , and probably should , be a 4 * rating. But let me explain. . . We are a family of 4 and all got large coffees ( made fresh for us so we had to wait a minute ) all got breakfast tacos, all a different way . Every single one of us loved it. I also want to mention the 2 donuts we did get were also beyond delicious. SisterNlaw got a blue berry one and myself a chocolate iced one. The chocolate they use on the donut made it different in the best kind of way. Seems this business is doing far better than expected and maybe in a little over their heads in a good way. I rarely, if ever eat anything in the donut family, but I found this little family owned shop by searching Google maps and am so happy that I did! I arrived in the nick of time before they stop making breakfast tacos. They very nicely let me know about the cutoff time but were still happy to accommodate, yay!

Since I didn't have cash, and because they have a $5 minimum to use a card, which is very reasonable, I bought a croissant, an apple fritter and a maple donut cake. My favorite, by far was the apple fritter, though everything was delicious!

Man, I downed that apple fritter ignoring all the guilt I knew would haunt me later. =D

I was craving an apple fritter. I left with 6 breakfast tacos, a dozen donuts and 2 fritters. All for $25, which included a tip. So super cheap. The tacos are huge. They stuff them. Unfortunately, they're flavorless. Lots of egg. Not much sausage. American cheese. That's a big negative for me. The salsa had heat but not flavor. The apple fritter was delicious. The service was good, and the wait wasn't terrible considering they were full. I haven't tried the other donuts yet. I got sour cream cake and some iced donuts with sprinkles for my kids. So, I'll return for fritters but not tacos, because I do want to support small local business, but life is too short to eat bad breakfast...
