I was in the mood for bbq and I surely came to the right place. The interior was clean and the staff was friendly enough. I was hungry and ready to eat. I ordered the sliced brisket and turkey with coleslaw, baked beans and macaroni. When I went to get my drink I encountered a wonderful smell of fresh jalapenos. They looked great. I grabbed a few and sat down to eat. The food was wonderful and those jalapenos were big juicy and delicious. A great compliment to the meal. The only issue I had was with the temperature of the meat. It was barely warm. I thought that maybe it was because I poured bbq sauce on it that was sitting at room temperature. Maybe, but the meat still could have been much warmer. The only reason I didn't complain was because the beans and macaroni were hot enough to make the meat warmer has I chewed them together, besides I was so hungry that once I started eating I didnt want to stop. 😂 I really liked the way the food was arranged as well. 4 stars only because the meat wasnt hot enough. Hope its better next time because I will be back............ so I came back on today Oct 5 and its the same issue: luke warm meat. The turkey was barely warm and the brisket was cold after the second bite. This time I did ask the guy behind the counter if he could warm the meat up. He said no. Apologizing because they had no microwave. I dont understand it. Ive given this place a good review and has even suggested it few times. Not anymore. I cant eat luke warm to cold meat. Thats ridiculous. How can any restaurant serve such a thing. Maybe its just what they serve me. I have no idea. What I do know is that I wont be back.

For the past few visit to the Round Rock location, the friendly Customer Service experience has not been what I received on my initial visit. This initial friendly Customer Service is what brought me back. Today, I ordered a lunch special in getting some Pork Belly burnt ends. Being that I never had this before I asked the cashier what it consisted of on the meat. She answered to the best of her ability. However there was a cook standing next to her cutting the meat. He never once engaged in helping her or ask me if I wanted to see what I was purchasing. This was an opportunity to engage the customer. He could of even allowed me to taste a small piece. Being that I wasn't sure of how it was going to taste. I purchased some ribs just in case. After getting home, they were okay. It wouldn't be something that I purchased again. The previous time I visited, they forgot to place my pie in the bag when I picked it up. I called back after getting home to informed them of their error. They apologized and gave me the option of a refund for the pie. I informed them that I would just come by the next day to pickup the missing pie. Well, I came by to receive the pickup and was thrown the bag with the pie by one of the cooks. There are sooooo many barbecue places in Austin to visit. You want to make sure you teach all of your employees good Customer Service. They are the face of your business with Customers; good or bad. You choose the Customer experience through their service to the Customer.

The staff was really friendly and helpful when trying to decide what to order. I wanted to try several meats. I selected the three meat meal. I chose the brisket, sausage, and turkey. For the sides, I selected potato salad and creamed corn. The brisket was moist, had the smoke ring, but didn't have much flavor. The sausage was okay but reminded me of store-bought sausage like Hillshire Farms. The turkey was very moist and tender. The flavor was pretty good but nothing to come back for. The potato salad and creamed corn were pretty good. Would I come again? Yeah. The food was good, just not something to call home about. The restaurant was clean and family-friendly.

If I could I give it a zero and definitely a call to corporate! Today I had a very unpleasant experience here at this location. We had 2 workers who thought it was funny to laugh at an older gentleman who didn't speak English and only spoke Spanish. 2 entitled older boys who work here thought it was so funny laughing for 6 minutes straight. The workers were Josh and Phil. I think it was very unprofessional how they handle the situation. Especially when one of them grabbed a Latina woman and said handle him without even asking if she spoke Spanish. Me as a Latina woman felt very offended by the workers actions. I had to step in to show the entitled workers that what they did was not okay and spoke up for the gentleman who couldn't speak for himself. I also apologize to the young lady who works there and had to help out coworkers who are in their 30s and up acting like that. I am disappointed and disgusted by the workers PHIL and JOSH actions today at this location. I don't tolerate bullying, unprofessional, or racism in life and especially at work. It really shows PHIL and JOSH character and entitlement they seem to have in life. If this is what smoky mo's represent I'm okay with going to another bbq place who actually care and show respect to all customers. PHIL and JOSH you should be ashamed by y'all's actions. Wake up it's 2024 stop the bullying and stop with the entitlement you assume you have and most importantly stop being racist. At the end of the day you two shouldn't have jobs that involves the public. Mind you see how I used my words and didn't say one racist thing about you PHIL and Josh. It's really not that hard you should try it. for the owner who should really have an evaluation on the workers here at least PHIL and JOSH since they seem...
