I visited Col’s Coney today after reading some Google reviews, aiming for a healthy breakfast. I ordered the Feta with Spinach omelet and customized it by adding grilled onions and tomatoes. Being a hashbrown enthusiast, I requested them extra crispy and specifically grilled well on both sides. The omelet came with toast, but I asked to skip it.
The omelet arrived quickly, and the presentation was spot-on. The ingredients were fresh, and there were no canned products. The feta cheese, in particular, was high quality. It was one of the best omelets I've had in this area. Kudos to the chef for doing a fantastic job! The coffee was also notably good, far superior to the typical breakfast diner coffee. It felt like having breakfast at Starbucks. Service was decent; they checked on me once for a coffee refill but didn’t come back after that—not a big deal, but I did notice it later.
Now for the downsides: I didn’t check the menu for the cost of extra items, and I was surprised to be charged $3.50 for a small portion of grilled onions and tomatoes. Considering the omelet with hashbrowns and toast was $11, $3.50 for a few extra veggies felt excessive. It wasn’t about the price itself, but rather the sense of being overcharged. A reasonable extra item fee, like $0.50 or $1, would have been fair.
As for the coffee, it was $3.75. While it was good quality, that price is more in line with boutique coffee shops rather than a breakfast diner.
Lastly, they charge a credit card fee if you don’t pay with cash. My cash was in the car, and I didn’t feel comfortable stepping out to grab it, so I had to pay with my card. What could have been a $14 breakfast ended up costing me $20.
Would I return? I’d like to, but the extra charges left me feeling taken advantage of. It gives the impression of a business focused more on squeezing every penny rather than building...

One thing that really bothers me about this place. We have visited twice now, and both times we’ve had a bad experience. It wasn’t because the food was bad, the food is really tasty. It wasn’t because our waitress was bad, she was very tentative and nice. It is because when it nears close to closing time, well an hour before closing time something strange happens. The cook, the owner, or whoever the heck is in the kitchen starts singing and being extremely obnoxious. I don’t know how no one else has reviewed this experience but it’s quite unpleasant and made both visits unbearable. I don’t know if they do that to get the customers to leave or what, but it’s not right. It’s not right especially when you have AN HOUR left until your restaraunt closes.
Could this be the reason why they barely ever have customers in the restaurant/parking lot? I feel like that one guy is really hurting the business, because the food itself is like I said good.
I’ll be back, but obviously it’ll be for a...
Read moreHi I'm Eddie and here is my input. I used to go there and then was talking to a colleague about his experience there at coles restaurant. He explained that he also used to go there, but that he likes his eggs cooked a certain way, and that the cook refused to grant his order. So I asked the owned about it and he said he does not get paid enough to do what the man was wanting. So, but I kept going there for a while. So I used to do a order to go, which consisted of a gyros on because I do not like French fries, at that time it was approximately 6.00 and I would give the waitress like 3.00 to help her out. We'll he noticed that after doing it 2 or 3 times. The next time I came in he had raised the price to 8.00 for my gyro. I think this guy is money oriented, he even told me about his overhead, something that really should not be mentioned. Last but not least one afternoon we ordered child's menu wing dings for our daughter and the price was good the portion was excellent, the next time we came in and ordered the same he cut the portion way down, why not keep your customers happy ?. Thank you for reading good...
