1/5 stars
I'm extremely disappointed in the service I received at Jim's Frostie Treats on 11 Mile Road in Royal Oak. Despite being a repeat customer, I was appalled by the young worker's handling of food and money. He wore gloves, but it seemed like he didn't change them often enough, and what's more concerning is that he applied hand sanitizer directly to the gloves. This is not only improper food safety protocol but also creates a false sense of security.
As a customer, it's unsettling to see gloves being used in this manner, especially when handling money and food. Proper food safety procedures, such as frequent hand washing and replacing gloves after each order, are essential to prevent the spread of bacteria and keep customers safe.
Given this experience, I won't be returning to Jim's Frostie Treats. Cleanliness and food safety should be top priorities for any food establishment, and unfortunately, this place fell short.

Read moreHave been to Jim’s over a dozen times and tonight was not the Jim’s I know. Ordered a banana pudding with no wafers . It comes out with graham crackers . I politely said I ask for no wafers and was told it was graham crackers . I said graham crackers do not come in it as I order this every-time and read the description and no where mentions graham crackers. The female workers gave the young man who remade it smart remarks that I could hear . “Once they pay for it we don’t remake it , that’s a waste” . Why would I pay for something I didn’t ask for , It is a waste of my money. In addition , my boyfriend ask for a brownie and cheesecake Arctic Frostie and they messed up on his first one and remade it . It was still incorrect as it didn’t have cheesecake in it , my boyfriend was fed up at that point and just took his messed up order. Lesson learned : take my business where accuracy matters and if there are mess ups it is fixed without...
Read moreWe've been going to Jim's since 2002 as it is the perfect walking distance through our neighborhood. The selections for frozen yummy treats are exactly what you expect from a place like this. The employees are always friendly, the line is never too long, and the prices are decent. Their small flurry (it used to be called 'baby' size) is more than enough for any average human's sweet tooth needs. There are not dairy options as well as packaged ice cream treats. Even though I no longer live in the area I still make it a point to stop in whenever...
