I have been eating at tubby's for decades. I even used to work at 4 different locations of tubby's for several years. I Was craving a chicken and broccoli sub. I went to the Tubby's on 9 mile and the service drive and they had closed at 3, so I went to the next closest one which is the 1 on 11 mile and Campbell. It is at this 1 that I ordered my food. I waited about 10 minutes inside the restaurant and because I Was so hungry I decided to eat in my car and upon opening my sandwich and eating it I had found the broccoli was well overdone, therefore it missed its mark on the taste it should have been. So I called the store. I was speaking to someone on the phone and as I stated my concern she abruptly said, "hang on." Then another woman got on the phone and said how can I help you. I said someone was already helping me and she said how can I help you I said I was just on the phone with someone else who was helping me and she said (with an attitude) Yeah and she gave the phone to me I said O okay. So I begin to explained my complaint and her response was, "our broccoli is frozen and I need to make sure that it's cooked through." And I said OK but it's way well over done and she said how am I supposed to make sure that it's not frozen anymore and I said well you don't have to cook it that much besides to heat it. (To my knowledge if broccoli is frozen, its freshly frozen and NOT already cooked) she was frustrated and her tone with me was not very professional. She says come on back in and I will get you another one. So I go in there and they start to hand me the sub and she starts complaining to me that I did not have the one originally ordered in my hand and ready to give to them and I said you are not allowed to take any food back from me, "she said we would take it and throw it away" and I said that is not legal you are not allowed to take it from my hands after I have already eaten off it or touched it and you know that. And so she was being a smartie pants the way she said OK have a nice day. I went out to my car to eat my sandwich and yet again the broccoli was well over done. I could tell not only by the way it looked but also by the way it smelled. Broccoli and such vegetables have a particular smell to them when they get over cooked. I proceeded back into the restaurant and asked if she knew the owner. She refused to answer and said that she could not give out that information am I said well who's the supervisor and she said, "I am" am I said OK who's your superior and The lady who took my order said, "SHE (a she smacked her hands together as she is telling me)...she is the general manager they refuse to give me either of their names they refuse to give me information on the owner of the store and said I can call corporate. While I was waiting for my second sandwich to be made I called another tubby's and asked them if their broccoli was frozen and he said no it's fresh and as I mentioned earlier I worked for tubby's for several years so I know that their broccoli is fresh. I don't understand the complication on this simple fix. I also don't understand the unprofessional ism and the courtesy that was not given to me as a customer in addition to their tone and the attitude and the respect that I was given in voicing my concern. It really was a simple fix and could have been easily resolved but instead it has escalates to an unsatisfied customer that will not likely visit this particular restaurant...
Read moreI placed my order online and headed over to do the pickup. Of the $40 order, $21 was for the freshly baked cupcakes. Two-thirds of the cupcakes ordered were not in stock and the other options were blech. The kid behind the counter didn't seem capable of tying his shoes so I didn't ask him to do math to adjust the order and I selected other cupcakes. The other kid back there, also incapable of tying his shoes, almost gave me the wrong substitute cupcakes. They put the 6-pack in a bag, loaded my sandwich on top, stuffed in a bunch of napkins and pushed the bag my way. I pushed the bag back and pointed to the online order printout to request the bag of chips and the soda I had already paid for. When I had a chance to eat the sandwich, I discovered they used white bread when I requested wheat bread. To say I was sorely disappointed in the experience would be an understatement. At least the Ham & Cheese tasted exactly the way I remember and they did provide extra dressing as requested, so I went with two stars. (Time to hire and train staff at...
Read moreVery disappointed. We ordered the âmonsterâ subs for a party and received LESS than a typical sub. These had very little meat (see photos) and a tiny bit of lettuce and tomato. For $30-40 per foot, this is absolutely despicable. We would have been better off going to subway. These âmonsterâ subs are advertised as feeding 5-7 people per foot - but 3 feet of these pathetic specimens was not nearly enough for our party of 12 people. We were left scrambling for more food at the last minute, which is the last thing you want to deal with when hosting a party.
We ordered these âmonsterâ subs with well over 24 hours notice; however, the evening before, I received a call from the manager of the Royal Oak Tubbyâs, Will, saying they would have to delay the pickup time by at least 1 hour. So not only did we receive worthless subs but had to wait for the privilege.
