On 08/20/2020. I went into Alejendro's in Royse City for dinner with my wife and son who is a little over 1 year old. I arrived at 6:00pm and asked the hostess to be placed on the waiting list. The wait was 10 mins so I agreed to wait and the hostess took my name down but she never notified me when my seating became available. Rather, she allowed 3 other parties of the same size to go before us. I ended up waiting 20 mins longer just to be seated and only after I had to go ask the hostess about our seats since she had already allowed other customers before us after we had arrived much earlier than other customers. Once we sat down, we ordered our drinks and food but the sad thing is...OUR FOOD NEVER CAME OUT. That's right I waited and waited and waited even more for food that was NEVER SERVED to us. When I address the order status with our waiter, he told me that our food order was behind because of a larger order that came through and that we should have our food soon, meanwhile everyone else that came after us, had ordered their food and had already recieved their food long before us. Finally, I had enough waiting because my son was becoming more irritated just sitting and waiting to be fed. I got up to leave the restaurant at 7:00pm. Upon my departure, I asked to speak to the manager to address this lack of service. The manager came over and I began to address the hostess waiting issue where we waited 20 mins on top of my intial expectation just to be called for seating that never came and also being passed up 3 times. I also addressed the long wait for food that NEVER CAME. I believe that I should have recieved some type of reassurance or even some type of empathy for the staff's shortcomings from the leadership but instead I was told that I was mistaken about the wait times and that the hostess has not been passing over on guest even though she spent more time paying attention to her phone under the booth than paying attention to customers who had been waiting to be seated. The manager made it seem like I was basically lying to him about my experience even though I sat and witness everything and still waited for an hour for food that we had ordered and NEVER RECEIVED. To be clear, I can handle people dropping the ball because of busy dining hours or even undertrained or inexperienced staff. I can even handle extended waiting periods for service however where I draw the line is when leadership fails to address my concerns and continues to communicate their failed opportunities to paying customers. Rather than making things right, what this manager failed to do with me is 1st, offer us any reassurances to address the hostess waiting issues even though it has already been reported on google reviews on 07/31/2020 from another customer with the same experience. 2nd, to be slightly empathic about the lack of service. He would rather defend his incompetence, lack of leadership and continue to communicate his staff's poor response to customers than to say "I'm sorry for your experience" By this time, I knew his complacency in his staff and his inability to lead effectively was far greater that his commitment to his paying customers so I gathered my family and walk out. I did order some tea, water and a side of guacamole in the beginning of our wait so I returned and left a $20.00 on the table. I'm not a person of malicious intent nor do I believe of taking advantage of people because I believe in fairness and holding myself accountable. In TRUTH, I paid more with the time lost and the money I left on the table than I would have, had this experience led to an exceptionally great service. I know that the general public read these post and I hope that the staff, the manager, and even the owners read this post so that this experience doesnt happen again to other customers. In closing, If you go to Alejendros in Royse City and you have a poor experience at this restaurant, be prepared to be wrong because the leadership at Alejandro's in Royse City will always be right over of the paying and generous customers...
Read moreWhere do I start. Walked in for dinner and seated at a dirty table full of chip crumbs and food stuck on the table from previous customers. I had to ask the hostess to please wipe the table as she was walking off. Who sits people at a clearly visible dirty table? She reluctantly wiped the table with a rag, then tossed the menus on a soaking wet table to stick. She was eager to return sitting down with another coworker to chat. Ordered a guacamole appetizer that never came as the waitress admitted she forgot to enter it. Requested a margarita with Gran Marnier. Margarita came and tasted like nothing but lime juice, no alcohol. I raised this concern with the waitress who stated the bartender forgot to add the Gran Marnier, but they didnt forgot to charge me $18 for lazily made trash. So now my drink tastes like lime juice and Gran Marnier, no tequila at all. The drink was too disgusting to even finish, why not make another one the right way? Food was lackluster. I couldnt get the waitress' attention to explain the food situation because she was too busy doing side work. Ended up walking to the bar myself for salt and pepper. The manager never once came to my table but had no problem laughing and chatting with employees at the kitchen window. Are you too scared or embarrassed to talk with your customers? I get these are trying times in the food industry but spending $100 on this experience was ridiculous and insulting. We've tried this place a few times but will never be back. Surprising this place has lasted as...
Read moreOrder the Super Fajitas for Two. You will eat plenty and have leftovers. Plus those bacon wrapped jumbo shrimp are tasty and perfectly cooked. The carne asada basically melts in your mouth and needs very little chewing. My husband is usually not a huge fan of the pork on combo fajita platters but he liked this one more than any other. The chicken was good but not why we will be back. We came on a Friday night at 6 and there was no wait. We sat at one of their 2 long taqueria style tables and were constantly attended by the wait staff, specifically, Maddie. The Margarita was good, but I saw some fancy looking Margaritas that I will try next time. The salsa was amazing, fire roasted like Mariano’s salsa in Dallas. Since it was a tad spicier than other salsas we got some queso-the plain one. The salsa with the queso was also nice but the queso was smooth and had a uniquely addictive flavor. This place is one of three Mexican restaurants in Royse City. We frequent the other 2 when we have a busy night but this one we saved for a date night as it looked more upscale. The net net is that this will be our regular place for any night because it is not over priced. Because I am comparing it with the two other places, let me say that the veggies on the fajita plate could have been more cooked. Also the guacamole on the setups looked a little oxidized but tasted like any...
