This place just recently reopened so I was excited to try it out, especially since they offer Menudo and Pozole. With that said, my husband ordered the menudo, it was a bit watered down but the hominy to meat ratio was good. My husband needed to add a substantial amount of salt to bring out the flavor. I had the Jumbo Shredded Beef Burrito smothered in Green Chile Sauce, it was good, plenty of shredded beef inside but it did also need salt, next time I want to try it with Red Chile Sauce. My kiddo got the kids cheeseburger which was really tasty. It came plain, just cheese and meat with a packet of mustard and ketchup on the side, perfect.
The service was a bit slow which I'm assuming it's because the restaurant has been closed so they are still trying to get in their rhythm but at the same time they weren't packed so it could have been a little better.
Although I wasn't impressed with the food this go around, I am going to go back a few more times to try out different items.
They have 5-6 outside patio tables for outdoor dining. No...
Read moreWe are in town for spring break and relied on Google reviews to select this restaurant. It had 4 1/2 stars. We were hesitant when we arrived because it is located in a shut down mall. But we decided to trust the reviews. We wished we hadn’t. We tried to order margaritas, but they do not serve alcohol. OK, no big deal. We’ll take some chili con queso. When the queso was delivered it is basically pico de gallo with a bit of melted cheese in it. Basically onion and pepper soup with some greasy melted cheese. They claim this is authentic but a warning would’ve been appreciated as there’s no way the kids would eat that and we can’t be the first people to have ever questioned it when it arrived. The adults barely touched it. The food we ordered was all meh. Edible, but not really tasty. The rice and beans were the best part and that’s not saying much.
The staff were kind, quick and lovely but the food was meh and the environment was not great. Also of note, the restrooms...
Read moreWe had been passing by this restaurant when grocery shopping and finally stopped in one Saturday last month. Very happy we did!! The restaurant is cute and clean and has indoor seating and what looks like patio seating but inside the old mall. The staff working were very friendly and attentive. The food was great!! My husband had a chorizo and egg plate, I enjoyed the Bistek a la Mexicana plus a cup of menudo, and our niece had the Al Pastor tacos. The chips and salsa were complimentary and very good! The chorizo was flavorful and came w corn tortillas, potatoes and beans. The Bistek a la Mexicana had tender, perfectly marinated fajita beef and eggs and beans. The menudo was pretty good!! It had the best consistency and full of flavor and a good ratio of meat and hominy. The Al pastor tacos are really good and I will definitely try my own next time we are there! The tacos came w a side salsa and it was spicy and delicious, a great pairing for...
