I don't get to Ruston very often at meal times, but I did on Thurs 6-18-2020. I had heard about this place last year and ate here on 2 different occasions. I had a reason to be in Ruston, so I drove over from Monroe to be in time for lunch and was pleased that I did. I had the chanterelle mushroom burger. I'm not much on burgers, BK, McD, Wendell's, y'all can have those. But a gourmet style burger will get my attention. Of course his is locally sourced beef and was lean and tender and had a really good flavor. It was served on a Kaiser roll. The chanterelle mushrooms were good. They were also sourced locally, by a group of foragers in the local woods. I was about to have him put the red onions on mine, but the owner (Desi) stopped me and reminded me that chanterelle mushrooms have a delicate flavor, so the onions would overpower them. Quite right. I really enjoyed it. I also had the green bean salad as a side for $2. That beats fries any day (except for that little Magnolia Inn place down in St. Francisville). It's all outdoor seating, and with this virus crisis mess, he no longer has the awnings up over the picnic tables. So I took my shirt off and got my dose of Vitamin D while I ate.

there are several reviews on this business, they don't need mine....but.... we drove over, this is close to me and had to come back and leave the car and walk. anywhere close to straight up dinnertime and you are not getting parking. a very nice day to eat out at the picnic tables that are provided, extreme weather days would be avoided other than pickup. the food was excellent, not a fan of sweet potato fries but these are an exception, they are so very good. the flavor and texture of this beef patty really gets your mouths attention, this is very lean beef. the bun and freshness of topping makes this an overall ten stars for the food, definitely worth the stop.

Lil food shack near the railroad in Ruston. A lil pricey but you definitely pay for quality. Best burger I've had this year (forgot to take a pic before doing this review). All the ingredients are locally sourced and clearly listed so you know what you're eating. Absolutely well worth the stop, I recommend the bacon jam burger.

I've had some good burgers before, but I've never had one quite like this. I took my mom there this past Saturday, and we both swore to come back as soon as we could. You can't fake quality like that. Locally sourced, fresh, and absolutely incredible. The owner was super nice and definitely put me at a loss for words in the best way. He was quick to tell us that everything was locally sourced and fresh, and I got a little taken aback. He definitely backed it up, that's for sure. The pimento cheese burger is to die for, and I'm not sure what they put in there, but it's about as addictive as caffeine. They've definitely earned my respect and a new customer. You will not be...
