We were excited to have a new Italian place in Rutland and have dined here twice in the last month or two. The first experience was excellent, the appetizer we ordered was amazing, stringy cheese and plenty of crostini to enjoy it with. My husband was going to order the chicken Parmesan but the waitress was honest and let us know several people had sent it back that evening. We appreciated the honesty. Our entrees were delicious and the dessert was gourmet.
We went back with our adult son, looking forward to another great meal. We asked if the chicken parm was good that night and the waitstaff told us it was on point. The chicken was dry and tough, would not recommend. I ordered the pan seared scallop special ($30) and while the white wine sauce on the pasta was delicious, the scallops were somehow both burnt and undercooked and had an odd flavor. The spaghetti and meatballs, which should be the cornerstone of a place like that, was underwhelming. The sauce wasn’t anything special and the pasta was over cooked. Will give it one more try but that experience will determine whether we go...
Read moreWe had a lovely dinner here on Friday night. There was a show at the paramount so the place was very busy when we arrived around 6:30 but it cleared out pretty quickly after we arrived. The noise volume dimmed considerably, but wasn’t too bad even with the place pretty well full while we were waiting for our table. The owner showed us a nice nook where we could enjoy our drink from the bar and we thought it was very nice that he took the time to introduce himself and chat with us personally. Our waitress was very pleasant and we were brought bread promptly as we were seated. We didn’t wait long to have our appetizer order taken, and our food order taken shortly thereafter. We got the calamari as an appetizer and it was excellent . We both decided on the build your own pasta plate. I got the spaghetti with shrimp and vodka sauce And my husband got the spaghetti with meat sauce. The vodka sauce definitely stole the show. The price was reasonable for what we got both in terms of service food and atmosphere. We were very pleased and we plan to...
Read morePros-the girls that bus tables, fill waters and bring out bread. Bread and dipping sauce for bread was good. They offer several gluten free options. Drinks from the bar tasted great. The dinner salad was all very good. Cons- our server was dismissive when I asked if the chicken piccata sauce was always so runny- it was was like broth not sauce, it didn’t even stick to the pasta. He told me that’s where all the flavor was, well there was no flavor. My friends ordered Alfredo and both had very different textures and creaminess. One had plenty of sauce with their entree and the other had very little Alfredo sauce. Over all very disappointing in the quality of food especially for the price, $27 for watered down flavorless chicken piccata. I do not recommend and will not be going back. Waited should have taken my food back, or discussed it with...
