My wife and I happened to think of checking out Bennett's new place located in the former location of the much loved Bandera's. We weren't looking to make a comparison, but it is hard not to have a fond memory of times previously spent there. It turns out it was their first day open to the public and we were customers number 2 and 3 walking through the doors.
Immediately the beautiful all new aesthetic impressed us when we walked in. While the general layout is the same, including the generous and inviting central bar, everything inside was built from the floor up. A lot of thought and care obviously went into the design. I especially liked all of the beautiful glass partitions and the efforts taken to reduce ambient noise throughout. It made for an extremely intimate and enjoyable experience.
The staff, from the first greeter at the door, to every person we encountered were polite, well-trained, and attentive to our needs. It seemed like they had been there, and worked together, for years. You would never have guessed this was their first day of public operations. The general manager, Erie, came over to visit and to make sure everything was meeting with our approval. Nick, our server, was professional and personable and gave us just the right amount of attention.
We were basing our expectations on our experiences at Bennett's Roseville location, however, the new restaurant is designed to be a much more upscale experience. The menu reflected this and everything we ordered was excellent.
We will definitely be back, I only wish we lived closer so it would be a bigger part of our regular rotation of restaurants. As we left I remarked to my wife, "this place is going to be a hit," and judging by the number of people who arrived during their first two hours of operation, I think that's...
Read moreHello, those who want to have a good time and eat deliciously. This is my second experience eating at a restaurant in America, but this is the only time I wanted to leave a review. I liked the service. Quickly, carefully, but not unobtrusively. The food was served for both of us at the same time, which I liked, we didn't have to wait for each other and started eating at the same time. I advise the administration to upload the current menu here, because the photo here is not relevant. I found only one dish that we ordered, I added a photo. deliciously. Drinks: clear beer was not bad. After dinner we decided to order cocktails. The “long island ice tee” was too sour for my husband's taste, my “espresso martini” was bitter and lacked baileys. For my cocktail i told the bartender, he brought bailis and syrup so i added to taste. It turned out just an incredible cocktail. See how many things I have added to the photo, too. The only thing I didn't really like was the smell in the restaurant. There was no smell of food or kitchen, which is good, but the smell of the tables and the floor was unpleasant. I advise you to draw the attention of employees to this. But I am very sensitive to smells, other people may not feel this unpleasantness. The music is calm, creates a good atmosphere, does not interfere with communication. So we left satisfied. Everything was at a good level, and what we didn't really like, we made good thanks to the restaurant service. We are used to the service of Europe and Ukraine, so whoever can compare will draw conclusions. It was a review of a nice restaurant. I advise 👍 P.S. I'm sorry, the cocktail was so delicious that I remembered the...
Read moreMy husband and I tried this place for the first time on a Wednesday, about 6pm. The place was about 90% full. They have plexiglass between all the booths. The location is where the old Banderas was on Fair Oaks Blvd. The menu offers a little of everything, casual banh mi, to Mahi Mahi tacos, to rotisserie chicken, to steaks. They have a great wine and drink menu as well. I had the skirt steak with sweet potatoes and arugula. My only complaint was that I only got 3 little potato medallions, enough to compliment a very small portion of steak. Being a rotation eater it took me out of my comfort zone! But they were so good. The mixed greens side salad was really good with the house vinegarette, enough for us to share. We also had a side of Brussel sprouts, slightly undercooked for my taste, but tasty. My husband had the shrimp linguini. The light sauce on it was unbelievably tasty, with a generous amount of perfectly cooked shrimp. It came with 2 large pieces of toast. Very good choice. We shared a strawberry shortcake for dessert. The shortcake had lemon zest that gave it extra pizazz! Very yummy. The wine selection offered 5 or so choices in each category. I had the Marlborough Sauvignon blanc, which was so good, my husband a Chardonnay that was very buttery and smooth. They offer you a tasting sip before filling your glass. Service was very good, once they realized we were sharing the salad they brought another chilled plate and fork out. Very nice...
