Went for a meal last night on my sons 12th birthday. He and my wife eat at this place when they visit the mall a lot, so they decided on this place for dinner. I hadn't been there myself in years, but I did remember it was overpriced bar food. Get there, order drinks(lemonades) and and appetizer, then when the server came back, ordered our meals. Then the long wait. One calamari appetizer, apparently takes almost 30 minutes to prepare and cook. In an very empty restaurant during the dinner rush(3 other tabless of diners in our area of about 25 tables) Ok, long wait and many drink refills for an appetizer. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich, which is usually a hot meal. About 45 minutes after our diner order, it finally comes out. I take one bite of my sandwich, and asked my wife to check it out, because its cold. Not warm or hot, but cold. She says the same thing. When the server came back, I asked if this was supposed to be a hot sandwich, and she said yes. I tell her its not even warm. Obviously they cooked my sandwich well ahead of the other meals, and it got cold. Wife and sons meals were hot. In order of hotness on my tray it was, hot fries, warm Cole slaw(that tasted like cardboard) and a cold crispy chicken sandwich. The server asked me if I wanted to get a new one, I said no, I had to wait 45 minutes for this one, I don't have time to wait another 45 minutes for it to be remade. Again mostly empty restaurant. I tried a few more bites of the sandwich, but it was terrible and not very good cold. She apologized and said dhe would talk to the manager. It was my sons birthday, so I wasn't trying to cause a scene or make waves, so I just let it go, and just didnt eat the food except most of the fries. When they asked if I wanted a Togo box, I said defintely not. The manager came over and apologized, said something about new cooks. I've worked in restaurants B4, so I know this can happen. The manager took my meal off the receipt. Still came out to over $100 with the tip. (Server was very good at her job, and it wasn't her fault the cooks sucked so bad at their job last night). Im a big guy, over 6 feet and about 200 lbs, and athletic, so I never leave food on a plate. My wife even commented that this was the first time in 23 years of marriage that she saw food on my plate when I was done eating. Overall, I will never go back. Oh yeah, I went to McDonald's right after we left. Ordered a crispy chicken sandwich. It was done in minutes, and it was hot. So not only did I spend over $100 for no food. I had to spend more money after I left to actually eat...
Read moreI recently had an incredibly frustrating experience with BJ's that left me feeling completely let down and inconvenienced. I placed an order with them, and they promptly accepted it, giving me the impression that they were capable of fulfilling it. However, to my disbelief, I received a call shortly after placing the order, informing me that they wouldn't have enough time to prepare it. This lack of foresight on their part was truly disheartening. If they knew they were short-staffed or had a high volume of orders, they should have communicated that upfront. Instead, they accepted my order, only to inform me later that they were unable to fulfill it. This left me in a bind, as I could have easily gone to a different restaurant had they been honest about their capacity. What's worse is that they wasted my precious time. By the time they called, I had already invested a significant amount of time waiting for my order. I trusted BJ's to provide a seamless dining experience, but they let me down immensely. It's simply unacceptable to make commitments to customers and then backtrack on them, especially when it involves something as fundamental as placing an order. The whole ordeal left a bitter taste in my mouth, and I will certainly think twice before considering BJ's for any future dining needs. Their lack of professionalism and respect for their customers' time is truly disappointing. I hope they learn from this experience and improve their operational efficiency to avoid causing similar frustrations to other patrons. I strongly advise potential customers to exercise caution when relying on BJ's for their dining needs. In my opinion, their inconsistent service and inability to fulfill orders on time make them an unreliable choice. There are plenty of other restaurants that prioritize customer satisfaction and provide a much more dependable experience. P.S. The receptionist is terrible, she would disappear for 10 minutes at a time with no updates Her absence lead to a line being formed and all people waiting There was a gentleman waiting asked one of the staff for help, The staff member replied when it was 11:55PM “It’s my last 5 minutes break”????! When they are closing at 12? The gentleman man had to go back and pick up his order because the non of the staff was even there and the guy just refused to help a customer. The staff is horrible horrible horrible I would give a zero rating if...
Read moreIt’s finally Friday (9/23) night means dinner with the family (for 4 this time). This week we decided to try out this place. Walked by it many times while at the mall but never stepped foot in it. I’ve been to other BJ’s before and had pretty good experience so why not. Didn’t have reservations, just walked in. Host had our name down said it would be about 20-25 minutes. Was seated within 15-20 or so. First impression of the restaurant is that it’s clean, well put together just like the other BJ’s. The lighting fits the setting, and creates a welcoming atmosphere. The place wasn’t overly crowded. There were definitely open tables available. With the short wait, my guess is they may be short on staff. Our server was great. I asked for samples of their IPA’s and she provided them. I settled with the Mad Crazy Mango IPA. Our order for the night included a Salmon Dinner, Classic Cheeseburger, and Jambalaya. Food was served hot from the kitchen within 15 minutes. Presentation was not bad. The cheeseburger could be presented a little better perhaps. The Salmon and Jambalaya looked good. For the taste, my son said the Salmon turned out good. Rice was ok. Broccoli was also ok. Wasn’t anything exciting. My wife’s cheeseburger was also good but there are better burgers elsewhere. The fries however were too salty. My Jambalaya was ok, not great, definitely over seasoned and too salty. The flavor was good. Shrimp and chicken turned out good including the rice but the cook got carried away with the seasoning. I couldn’t get enough beer to wash it down. Our server was great throughout. She was friendly, tentative but not overwhelming. Here’s the run down: Place is a 5/5. Server 5/5. Food presentation a 4/5. Taste was a 3/5. .We spent over $100 for our dinner. Given our experience, the value to price ratio is probably a 3.5/5. I would probably come back again but will stay with the burger menu and request to keep the salt on the side or something. If you like this review, give it...
