The past 2 times I have been here, I've paid an exorbitant price for a breakfast sandwich and latte, and the service has been really bad!
Both times the cheese on my very expensive sandwich was not melted, despite me asking the second time for it to be made extra hot. Also, today, the cashier rang my latte up with no whipped cream even though I asked for it normal. She said "mocha latte, no whipped cream" and I said "I didn't say no whipped cream". She said "oh, I thought you didn't want it". I was like "why wouldn't I want it?". Honestly I just gave up coffee 2 weeks ago, I work out daily, and it's Saturday so I wanted to get my weekly treat and I wanted it standard because I'm splurging. It was rude and annoying for her to make assumptions. Maybe it was because I had asked her what kind of milk the latte comes with but when I heard the answer I still told her I wanted it standard.
Then, I sat and sipped my very expensive latte for awhile and ate my cold sandwich. When a staff member came over and took my plate and cup without asking if I was done! I believe there was still a bit of coffee left in my cup. I told her I was still drinking that, and she said it felt really light. Did not offer to make a new one, did not do anything but walk away. She might have apologized but nothing more than that. I'm honestly shocked by the horrific service! If management sees this, please train your staff better, and a gift card for a free coffee wouldn't be too...
Read moreThis place is very charming and in a great location, however, the food is very low quality and low effort
I've been to this La Bou ("Near The Zoo") twice now, once in November and once this month. Both times, the food was subpar, however, the food was better in November
I got a panini both times, and maybe I should just learn better. In November, I got the Roast Beef & Cheese Melt. This time around, I got a Farmhouse Panini, which is just a grilled cheese with deli sliced ham and an egg.
Both sandwiches cost over $10 but both were the equivalent of $3 to $5 sandwiches found at small airport cafes. Just very disappointing to pay $10 for a sandwich that costs around $1 to make max and tastes about average
I get this place is not known for its food, but it could at least drop the price for items...
Read moreA nice spot to stop for lunch or a snack after a visit to the Sac Zoo and a stroll or bike ride through William Land Park.Clean, comfortable, plenty of outdoor seating as well as a pleasant interior, friendly staff, great food and a nice experience all around. I ordered the BLTA on toasted wheat bread, and a my spouse enjoyed her Pan Turkey Sandwich which had all the fixings of a complete Thanksgiving dinner tucked inside. We shared a huge Asian Pasta Salad, were not sure we could finish it all, but kept on nibbling until it was all gone. Premises are well maintained, and the restrooms are clean as a pin. I look forward to a return visit to try other things they...
