Stepping into Mendocino Farms at the Freeport location for the first time, I was greeted by a lively atmosphere and the enticing prospect of a culinary journey, thanks to their commitment to fresh ingredients. This set the stage for what I anticipated would be a delightful lunch. The menu was a testament to creativity, offering a diverse selection of sandwiches and salads designed to satisfy various tastes. The chicken sandwich, a classic choice at many restaurants, typically promises a pleasing crunch and a balance of flavors. At Mendocino Farms, however, my experience was somewhat inconsistent. Although the ingredients were undeniably fresh and the bold flavors typically found in their sandwiches were present, the chicken sandwich was excessively crunchy to the point of being noisy while eating. Despite this, the quality of the chicken was not diminished; it was tender and flavorful, and the accompanying sauces and vegetables created a harmonious blend of tastes. On my next visit, I’m inclined to try a different sandwich. Service-wise, Mendocino Farms excelled with its amiable staff and streamlined ordering process, reflecting their dedication to ensuring a positive customer experience. Even when my colleague’s dish was accidentally served to another customer, the staff promptly offered to prepare a new one, further demonstrating their excellent service. The outdoor seating area was picturesque, but I found myself wishing for adjustable umbrellas to provide better shade coverage, as some spots were left exposed to the sun. Overall, while there were areas for improvement, the visit was a...
Read moreI had been to a Mendocino Farms, but this was my husband and mine's first time at this new location. The staff was super friendly and helpful, with someone greeting us and asking if we had any questions about the menu as soon as we walked in.
There was no line, but I could tell the staff were BUSY, hard at work making online/pick up orders. I ordered the chicken prosciutto sandwich (without the almonds, I appreciated that the woman taking the order asked if it was for preference or due to an allergy), my husband ordered the Turkey Avo sandwich, then we shared both the potato salad and the macaroni salad. Even though the staff was busy making to go orders, our food was brought out quickly. Everything was delicious. The bread was nice and soft, with a nice crunch to the crust, the protein was flavorful and juicy, and all the ingredients were fresh. Our sides were just as delicious. And don't get me started on the lemon cheesecake cookie.
My husband had never eaten at a Mendocino Farms before, and I can tell it is his new favorite spot. He hinted at wanting to go back...

The Thai Mango Salad is STILL a disappointing sad salad with very little mango, which is supposed to be the star ingredient of this “soulful salad”. They also forgot to add ramen noodles to my Thai Mango Salad. I do not recommend wasting $16 on this disappointing salad. 🤨
Mid-January 2024 UPDATE: Corporate head office decided to change the menu completely and it’s a complete doozy! 🤨🥴 You won’t be able to enjoy the ‘Sweet Heat Crispy Thai Chicken Sandwich’ anymore.
This place recently opened at the end of May and it’s nearby the new Raley’s in LandPark. I ordered the ‘Sweet Heat Crispy Thai Chicken Sandwich’ to go and it was delicious. There was a generous serving of three to four air-fried crispy chicken tenders, Thai basil slaw, pickled daikon and carrots, a sweet chili sauce, siracha mayo and fried shallots on a large toasted sesame...
