It is rare to find a place that is focused on high quality hot food delivered in a quick manner. The people running this place are really nice and welcoming. I usually go late toward their closing and get falafel donairs or plates. The falafel is hands down, the best falafel in the Sacramento region. They shape them into little patties that are ultra crispy, yet supple when you bite into them. The herbs inside the falafel really shine through. You get notes of very common seasonings but also get a hint of fresh dill, which I absolutely love. The falafel donair is HUGE in a good way. For about 10 or so dollars, it is rare to get a meal of this size. It's honestly enough for two meals if you're not ultra hungry at once. The thing I love about this place is also how they load the donairs with all the usual toppings found in mediterranean/middle eastern cooking, but also add pickled peppers and pickles to their creations. They offer a little container of spicy harissa style sauce which I also find really special compared to other places. Their tzatziki sauce is also amazing. Dip the fries into it if you get some. All in all, the effort that these people put into each creation really speaks through. I will visit as much as I can. Thanks and wish you the best of luck as the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFinally decided to give them a try and I'm glad I did. Friendly staff. They wore masks properly & gloves when handling food. Greatly appreciated.
The fare they offer is more on the Middle Eastern/Lebanese side which I enjoy. Not Greek, which may be confusing due to their name. Hence the Donair & Kebab which gives a subtle hint. The flavors are delicious and prices are reasonable though.
The Lamb Shank Plate was flavorful in a saffron tomato broth. Not too tangy. I asked for extra sauce on it since I like it saucey and it was perfect atop the basmati rice. Needless to say, I ate the entire plate without sharing.
I ordered the Beef/Lamb Donair for my hubby and he enjoyed it even though it was on the spicy side. Mental note to minus the jalapenos & hot sauce for him next time.
The french fries were tasty and not overly salty.
I also ordered a side of Tzatziki sauce and extra pita for some good snacking later. Made more like mast-o-khiar and Laban style yogurt sauces. Again, which I enjoy do no complaints. Even their pita bread is Lebanese style. All good stuff!
And of course I tipped 15% or more because it's what I do. Even when I order take out. Another place to eat at Delta Shores nearby....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt was simply wonderful. I came to the US ~7 years ago and Iāve mostly been avoiding meat ever since because (no offense) it tastes weird to me and almost always makes me feel bloated. I am fond of Mediterranean cuisine, so I usually give it a try here and there. I ordered the lamb shank plate and here is the takeaway: It did not upset my stomach. It actually felt like real meat, it had flavor: I am not talking about the sauce or the spices added but the natural flavor of the meat itself. It could be eaten without condiments. The meat was tender yet firm, unlike what is labeled as ālambā in many other places and often does NOT taste like it. This was hands down one of the top 5 lamb Iāve eaten in my life and I have tried many places: I am from a small country where lamb is a typical holiday meal, I have Moroccan and Lebanese relatives whom I visit frequently. This lamb has very little (if at all) to envy to prime grade lamb served in restaurants. The plate was huge, I could not finish it in one meal. This was a real shock especially considering the price and the quality. I really did not have high expectations when I purchased it, but the food was outstanding. I am now a...
