Overall, my experience at One Speed was great. This was my third or fourth time visiting, which I felt gave me the experience needed to write a proper review. For this meal, we ordered a side of olives, a side of fries with aioli, and of course, a pizza. I chose the "Rick's Pizza." I wasn't the biggest fan of this one, as the combination of the olives and goat cheese made it a bit too tangy or tart for my taste. However, I did really like the crispy potatoes on it. The french fries were very good and had a nice salty flavor, which I consider a plus, and the side of aioli was great for dipping. I'd rate their pizzas overall about an 8.5 out of 10. While I didn't love the pizza I ordered this time, the crust was excellent, and I've had their other pizzas before which were delicious. So, although I might not recommend the Rick's Pizza specifically, I do think their menu is very high quality. I also can't end the review without shouting out the staff. I always have a great time when I'm there and the people are always really nice. top tier ambiance

Food = 2: This is the place Salt never found. Nothing was seasoned. Nothing. Fish Schnitzel and Rigatoni with Vodka sauce was completely bland. Sauce on the margarita pizza was good but quickly sogged it into a watery mush. Service = 4: Would have been 5 stars here. Unfortunately the soggy 1/2 margarita pizza we didn't finish was handed to us wrapped in a thin sheet of aluminum foil. We were asked if we needed "a box" earlier so not sure what happened there. Maybe they wanted to see it flopping in my hands as we left. Atmosphere = 0: Loud and overcrowded. They should move the table closest to the bar where we were sat, away from the bar. It's way too close and as the bar filled up I got a group of 5 people, standing literally right next to my chair, yelling over my table at each other. Overall: A great place if all you need is a beer or drink of water.

I ordered the chopped salad, which was tossed in a house dressing. My favorite bites had a little of everything in them, which speaks to the ingredient pairing. The bacon was thick and perfectly crisp and such a treat in the salad! The dressing was light and I wanted to lick the plate at the end. I also had the sautéed greens and broccoli rabe. I loved the spice of the chili flakes and how crisp the kale was compared to the softness of the broccoli. Very fresh and satisfying. For dessert I had the citrus olive oil cake. This is a unique item and you have to like olive oil to appreciate it, but the citrus was such a great flavor and it was moist and a real treat! I’ve had the pizza in the past and always enjoyed the food here! The service was on point and attentive, without hovering. Julie was superb and had good information and recommendations.

I REGRET I WROTE THIS NEGATIVE REVIEW 3 WEEKS AGO. IT WAS AN OFF NIGHT AND I SHOULD HAVE SPOKEN TO THE SERVER. I HAVE A NEW REVIEW BELOW BASED ON OUR FAMILY VISIT OF MAY 23. PLEASE READ. This is the old one: One Speed is our favorite restaurant in Sacramento. However, on Thursday night we were there with a friend who had never been to One Speed. It was not a good experience. The friend and I both ordered the House Made Fettuccine ala Bolognese... The noodles were under cooked and were too long. The sauce was mediocre. My friend ate three bites and nothing else. I ate half of mine. It was very disappointing because we love One Speed. It was an off night but I thought the restaurant should know about this. Wine was great.

NEW REVIEW FOR MAY 23 VISIT. Last week our family dined at One Speed. We had a marvelous time. We all loved the food, the wait staff, and the ambiance. The wine is also very good and affordable. One Speed is our family's favorite Sacramento restaurant. There were five of us, one visiting from out of town and we had a wonderful time together. I wish I could explain why we always have almost a joyful experience at One Speed. The atmosphere affords for good conversation and lots of laughter. We are all so happy during and after the our dining adventure. Five stars for One Speed. And thank you to the excellent cooking...

OneSpeed may specialize in pizza but they excel at everything they do.

We went for an early dinner, arriving at around 5:00 and were seated immediately. The staff were friendly and very attentive, we never need to ask for basic needs like silverware or refills on beverages, they always seemed to know if we needed anything.

The food was exceptional. The foccacia and red pepper hummus appetizer was delicious and great for sharing with the table. Their pizzas are made with super fresh ingredients and the crust is perfectly crunchy and chewy at the same time while not being too thick or doughy...the margherita, with its fresh basil and fresh mozerella, was a favorite. The standout for me was the handkerchief pasta with shrimp and scallops in a lobster stock, absolutely a must for any seafood enthusiast...one of the best seafood pastas I've ever had. They had a great selection of beers and wines as well.

They offer both indoor and outdoor seating with appropriate distancing. Parking in the area can be challenging...do not let that deter you though, OneSpeed is definitely worth circling the block to find a parking spot.

I cannot wait...

The food was very good. Our waitress was a little uptight about boxes or bags for our leftovers though. I had the house made italian sausage pizza and it was superb! My friend had the New Jersey pie. Half of his was left over, and a third of mine. My girlfriend had the chicken and said it was very good. The waitress brought our leftover pizzas wrapped in aluminum foil and the chicken in a togo box. I asked our waitress about a bag. She said she would ask someone about a bag, came back and said there was none. I asked about a box she commented about the box being too big, but I had to insist. I then asked another server who gave me a bag for the other leftovers. The manager then asked if everything was alright. I commented about the difficulty of getting bags for the leftovers from a $70 meal. She said they ran out of bags yesterday. I guess they just aren't keeping their restaurant stocked, although I felt chastised by the waitress for wanting to protect my leftovers better... ...Regarding the leftover food...my apologies that I did not want to waste the leftover food with improper packaging. I am sorry you think that...
