If you are a fan of Ramen don't skip this restaurant. We had the pleasure of dining with friends here and when they described the food we couldn't wait to try it all... Lucky for us we tried almost everything on the menu. My husband and I both lived in Japan and when I tell you that the broth on the Pork Belly Tonkatsu was off the charts exceptional. It was possibly the best we have ever had Japan included ...rich & savory ...so delicious, words fail me to describe it , it's something you must taste and experience. We also enjoyed an amazing summer poke bowl that had mango and the sushi rice was prepared perfectly. Everything here is made in house. The pickled cucumber absolutely fantastic. The fried chicken was off the charts nom nom nom. Tasty and juicy, the breading was seasoned perfectly. Unfortunately I didn't get photos of the desserts we sampled which did not disappoint. Calling it a cookie just doesn't do it justice. More like the most perfect cookie ever...and a homemade smore which melted in my mouth. All in all we cannot wait to go back to Origami to have another bowl of delicious ramen and to try the Banh Mi Sandwich which I think was the only thing on the menu we didn't sample. I would like to also shout out the service was 5 star, graceful, friendly and professional. I truly felt the staff cared about our experience and we felt very comfortable and were impressed with the entire experience.

Updated review - was pleased to see they served eat-in orders in actual dishes and not to-go containers (+1 star). The Banh Mi still a great menu item, ordered with their protein special (miso salmon). The ramen with pork belly also a great combo. The broth is really tasty and savory, and the vegetables are really fresh. Their pork belly is probably their best protein choice. The staff was very nice and made sure we had everything we wanted from extra napkins to glasses of water. Will definitely come back to try their poke and happy hour menu. Very nice staff, good for a quick bite. Ordered the Banh Mi with pork belly, Mixed Green salad with tri-rip added avocado & soft boiled egg, and the Fried Chicken (appetizer menu but could be an entree as it's half a chicken). The Banh Mi was good with the pork belly, I felt like it was missing jalapeno. The salad was great, the trip tip wasn't as tasty as the pork belly. The Fried Chicken was a lot of food for an appetizer and it was surprisingly sweet, I believe there may have been honey in the seasoning? Overall a good meal, however it did bug us that we ordered to eat there, and our food was served in to-go boxes, and noticed all orders were served in to-go boxes, just seemed wasteful.

The chefs counter dinner experience was great. Since it's limited to a maximum of 6 people you get a lot of attention from the chefs. Every course that we had was fantastic and the chefs really made sure we understood what we were eating and made is feel very warm and welcome. While the fact that it takes place in their day casual restaurant may be a turn off for some we really didn't mind it. Even with as many people as we coming and going we never felt like we were getting distracted and could really focus on the many courses that we're placed before us. The fact that it's a casual establishment also helps that you don't need to necessarily dress up much which really helps with comfort. Price wise it's definitely up there, but there aren't very many chef Counter experiences in Sacramento and none that really give you the sort of personal attention that we received. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique dining experience.

When your fried chicken reminds me of a yoga exercise studio ... Yup! I said it. The hype has been developing because their summer opening, yet what I really wish to return for is their Pork Stomach ramen!I'm so torn. This location is a true 3.5-star dining establishment. What do I rate it? On the lower side with a three or the higher side with a 4? Well, undoubtedly ... I picked a 3 in the end.We HAD to get their renowned fried chicken appetiser because everybody asserts it's the 'finest!' I no longer think these individuals, currently that I've tried it myself. It was plated truly charming and also you seem to get a suitable amount of chicken for the $12 appetizer rate. When I ate my drumstick it actually tasted reminiscent of a yoga workshop. Sage. Yes, all the sage. In addition, the hen was so oily, the covering slid right off and left me with a glossy item of chicken. I am most definitely going against the grain with this evaluation and also I'm alright with this. I won't purchase it once more, however if I go and also someone orders it, I'll provide it an additional taste test. That ALL being stated, I will entirely come back right here for ramen! I picked the pork shoyu broth for my ramen. I allow the kind order taker make a decision which veggie options I would get, I honestly didn't care. I think decided to opt for the pork stubborn belly as my healthy protein. This is where I (once again) need to call them out on something. Their food selection prices is extremely misleading. It looks as if you reach pick a healthy protein for the $10 ramen rates, however, it really costs extra for whichever healthy protein you pick. I assume they require to call it out in a different way, so it is VERY clear just how their pricing works.Okay, I like the 63 \u00b0 egg and just how I can damage it as well as allow it exude in the brew. Normally, I just get the egg or allow somebody else have it. I loved the consistency of this egg, which was out of the norm for my ramen experience. The broth was appetizing and not also salty, which is a huge bonus offer for me! Oh man, their pork belly was sooo bomb! I appreciate the top quality of the noodles as well as amount also. Whatever concerning this bowl was perfect. It was a lot more food than I could have ever needed, yet it made assessing this place hard.Okay, I have another complaint. And I am very curious if any person else had this experience. My rice was truly oily and glossy, yet there was no off taste as well it. It was actually difficult to eat with chopsticks also. I needed to ask what was up with and also honor the worker's heart for her the attempt at an answer. She said possibly it was as well watery. Anybody who eats rice on a regular basis understands when you add water to rice, it does not come to be glossy as well as oily. EVER. I thanked her as well as let it go, however I was rather discouraged at her reaction. Anywho, it was super tough to consume the rice and also so odd!Overall, for three ramens with proteins, one order of poultry wings, and also one beverage, $65 seemed truly expensive for rapid laid-back. Not that my viewpoint matters, due to the fact that they seem to be flourishing right here in their little Asian-is niche in East Sac. I'm thankful to have checked it off the 'to attempt' list, however I won't be demanding to come back and consume right here again. Their food selection isn't massive either.I'll be back to get ramen-tical, but not with...

Another gem chosen by lovely wife

(I'll stick to what I do best- driving and let her choose all these diamonds in the rough).

The food = Yum yum yum The price= Reasonable The service= Friendly with a smile

We just finished up our tour at Sacramento State and wanted to find a place nearby to eat. It didn't take too long for my wife to choose another great place like she always does. The drive was only less than a mile and a half so it worked out for us as we were really hungry and this was already getting late in the afternoon almost 3:00 p.m.

The decor is modern and everything on their menu is written on the blackboard. They have a simple selection on the menu and nothing too difficult to choose from. It's always nice to travel together as a family as most of the time everyone's choice covers everything that we want. What we individually ordered mostly covered everything on their menu and so we got to share everything. moments like this make it feel like it's some sort of potluck.

My daughter and wife got the cold noodles and it was absolutely delicious. The noodles were not too heavy and the flavors all blended very well. The pork was absolutely delicious. My other daughter and son each got a rice bowl and they also got the same pork that was included with the noodles. So triple the pork the delight all around. As for my other daughter, she went with the beef with her noodles and it equally impressed as well.

Not only did we get individual dishes but we also tried their poke. I like how the cucumber and avocados and overall flavor just satisfies your taste buds. It also had this little tiny crunchy curly things on top. It's like tiny croutons or something that you would usually add in your salad. This was an appetizer so you got to get this first. My wife also got a second appetizer to go along with the poke. I'm not sure what the name was but it was a cucumber sort of pickled dish. You got to try that one out as well.

As for myself, I always end up choosing the one that is always simple than the others. I had a Bahn Mi sandwich with grilled chicken. The bread roll had a nice crunch to it and the grilled chicken was grilled to perfection. Flavorful and tender.

This place worked out well for us because we had our puppy join us on the trip. Their outside patio what's perfect for the 5 of us. I also like how they have fruits and lime mixed into their cold water dispenser. It adds that nice flavor to a free glass of water. They also have bottled drinks such as Coca-Cola and I went with the root beer which was pretty good. Overall I recommend this place because it's simple and the food is absolutely delicious. Go ahead and give this place a try and I promise you you'll be really impressed. If we are in the area again, for sure we'll be stopping by.

Parking is sort of tight here. If you're lucky you'll find something down the neighborhood street, across on the main Folsom Blvd or down the street at the CVS Pharmacy. You'll also be surprised to find our barbecue grill next to their entrance. That's the secret sauce of...

Friday, 4/19/2024 - My Gfs and I went to eat at Origami Asian Grill for dinner. One of them has been there before and really liked it. So she wanted to bring us there to try it too. Address here is 4801 Folsom Blvd, suite 1, Sacramento, CA 95819. This restaurant is located not too far from Trader Joe's. You do have to wait in line to order your food. There's only 1 cashier to take your order. Parking here is a pain! It's street parking. I drove around and around forever looking for parking. Upon arrival...

Pros

  1. menu is posted right above the cashier. You can't miss it.
  2. it didn't take long to receive all of our food dishes.
  3. The servers were all so nice. I forgot to order my Cold Noodle dish with more Salad and need noodles, so I hurry to the staff taking the riches to make the order. I let her know that I totally forgot to tell the cashier that and I apologized. The sis my dish was already made and said they can add more salad in top, which they did. I was okay with that. Super sweet!!!
  4. You order your dish and you can add the protein to your dish for an additional fee. I fit tri-tip in mine. And boy when I took a bite of my cold noodle dish, it was so frigging good! The dressing tasted perfect for this dish. The tri-tip was perfectly cooked!
  5. all of our food dishes were delicious. The fried chicken was juicey and not dry.
  6. when you first walk in, to the left of you towards the entry way to the bathroom, there is a large jug of ice water and hot water with lots of glass cups. You can get your own hot or cold water. I was excited cus I like hot water and it's sitting right there for me to get any time I need more.
  7. restaurant was full of people. But our table was clean. They bring out utensils and napkins to you once you get your food.
  8. they had dried flowers hanging in the ceiling. Very cute.
  9. I saw bottle of wines by the cashier. Not sure if those are there to display should you want to buy a bottle of wine from them

Cons

  1. parking was a nightmare for me and my friends. It was hard to find parking.
  2. The line to order your food can get pretty long.

Conclusion I really liked this restaurant. The foods were great. It didn't take long to get our foods. Servers were super nice. I recommend this restaurant. Try it if you haven't yet. We had no...
