University of Beer - East Sacramento — Restaurant in Sacramento

We placed a pickup order through DoorDash 8/18 at 2:16 PM for a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Upon arriving home, we noticed the salad dressing was missing. We called the store to help with the issue, they gave us two options: refund through DoorDash or come back to the restaurant for a $20 giftcard. We chose the gift card. I told the gentlemen on the phone I would not be able to come back the same day (I do not live in the area), he assured me it was okay, and I could come at anytime to pick it up. I worked 2 12 hour shifts the following Monday and Tuesday, then left for vacation Wednesday. After my vacation, I called back Monday 9/2, updated the staff, but was then told they cannot offer me the gift card (that they don't even offer giftcards!) and to contact DoorDash instead. DoorDash answered they would not refund me after 24 hours after the initial order (I understand, its been 2 weeks). Disappointed the initial offer was rescinded and no other solution was offered. Melissa, the person I spoke to 9/2 (called twice this day) was extremely unhelpful. She told me they didn't even have a male working that "may" have helped me. A white 5'2 - 5'6 male gave me my order on Sunday! She also hung up on me before I was done speaking during the second call. The lack of communication between the staff and lack of knowledge of company policy has left me completely frustrated. If I was initially told to contact Doordash for the refund, I would've done so. I wanted to give UOB the opportunity to fix their mistake, which turned out to be a mistake on my part. The greens of the salad were also wilted, I just didn't want to come...

This place is AMAZING especially if you have dogs. I believe with any purchase they do A free dog bowl meal for them. And it’s super substantial too! Like a cup and a half of rice, peas, carrots, chicken and an egg on top. They brought my dog a water bowl on the tray with my water and it had ice in it. Any place so dog accommodating has all my money. The staff was very kind and excellent with their service. Also their happy hour is perfect for students like me. Buy one get one free appetizer AND they’re full size. I was able to take quite a bit home with me as leftovers that I ate for like two meals the following. I got the calamari and the Thai lettuce cups with shrimp. The quality of the food was great as well. Their cocktails were also very good. Our first time visiting UOF in East Sacramento. Cool, janky vibe evident from the first step inside…the plant wall (yes!) and pig angels floating on high. Gracie, our server, was attentive and so much fun. She really knew the menu and navigated the millions of beers on tap, in bottle, and the non-alcoholic ones (I didn’t have to wait for another when I drained the first one…she was right there 🤩) The food is inventive pub style fare tending to bold interpretations…we tried the batter fried burger with upgrade to pig fries (kind of like Canadian poutine) served steaming hot. Next time I have the mussels I will ask for the chorizo on the side just because it is a very strong flavor. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, And like so many other East Sac venues, kids, dogs, games, sports, bring it on....
