Out of the bigger mainstream coffee shops that are out there, "Peet's Coffee" would have to rank tops on my list. The stronger and bolder roast of beans is what has had me sold for many decades. And in my honest opinion, their overall experience top Starbucks on any given day. The only problem is that they are few and far between. The location I am reviewing is one that opened back in the summer of 2019 at Crocker Village.
Located directly off of Sutterville Rd. and adjacent to Crocker Dr. in the Curtis Park neighborhood of Sacramento, this Peet's Coffee shares the same parking lot as Safeway and many other eateries. It is just a couple minutes away from Sacramento City College which makes it a convenient spot for students to grab their morning jumpstart. They also have very generous hours of operation by opening at 6am every day but they do close quite a bit early at 5pm. This location (as is the case with many others) has no drive through so on any given day, you must walk in for ordering and/or mobile/pick-up orders.
Parking can be a bit of a challenge, especially during the midday lunch rush and/or on weekends. Since there are many other dining spots here as well as a major supermarket, it can be a bit tricky. But once inside, you will notice just how spacious this place is. They have ample seating throughout, large windows that allow natural light in, and a very sizable area where you can purchase bottled beverages, teas, snacks, and Peet's-related merchandise. There are also two unisex public restrooms at the rear of the building.
Since I am already very familiar with the Peet's menu, I usually stick to their drip coffee and lattes. On my most recent experience, I opted for a hot vanilla latte and a slice of banana nut bread. I am already a longtime member of Peet's rewards and use their app to gain extra points towards future purchases. The ordering process here is very simple while the baristas have always been super kind and helpful. At least at this location. Both my bread (which was heated up) and latte were ready within a couple minutes.
Overall, "Pete's Coffee @ Crocker Village" was an above average experience and just as good as many of their other brick-and-mortar locations. I love how this part of Sacramento has been completely revitalized with the Crocker Village Housing Development with affluent single family homes literally across the street. And since you're not in Midtown nor deep in the suburbs, this is a great diverse location with all demographics and walks of life. My rating, an above...
Read moreI have had the worst issues with this store and the Pete’s app. When I ordered coffee beans (grind for espresso and french press). Using my credit card for delivery, the app says the order “failed” however the money was pulled from my card. When I called the store, they said I can’t help, call customer service (800) number.
When I called customer service, they first said they can’t do anything as it’s pending, call back in three days! When I told them that I want the beans not the money, they said they can’t do that for three days!
I then asked for the supervisor as I just couldn’t imagine this all was true. Why did they not ask for an order number (there is none!). Their response to asking for a supervisor was for me to give them my phone number and the supervisor will call back within 48 hours!
Their response app has always been difficult to use but the service to get the order fixed, delivery done, is the worst! I can imagine I the only one with this issue.
I am a 30 + year customer. I am thinking it might be time...
Read moreIF I COULD 4.5 STARS! Great place to be and to study and it is new and it is clean!!!💕❤❤. I love it here. Coffee here is always better than Starbucks and I have seen them do some/often latte art for their customers, which is a very nice and a classic touch. Each time I order their coffee they appear good, smooth, and silky. It would be nice if they decided to extend their hours of operation because they are so close and next to Sac City College. It is what it is. This will not stop me from being their regular customer each time I have class...
