Pretty good food. This order cost a total of $20.11 which honestly I dont feel is that bad. I got;
1 fish taco ($2.95); which tasted great but consistancy of the fish reminded me a lot of soft cauliflower, which isnt a bad thing, just kind of gives me ideas of things to try at home.
1 Lengua taco ($1.99) - good but nothing terribly extrordinary, just what Id expect.
1 cabeza taco ($1.99) - as expected nothing extrordinary
1 buche taco ($1.99) - pretty good i believe these were deep fried, but still a bit chewy, as expected.
1 tripas taco (1.99) - now this was better than expected, they very lightly battered the tripas i believe, and deep fried them, so they werent chewy at all, great texture and flavor.
Of the 5 tacos i would only order a full order of tripas tacos next time, very yummy!
Also ordered the super Chicken (Pollo) quesadilla ($6.75) - I feel for it being referred to as the "super" quesadilla, it really isnt very big at all, granted they do have 1 up called the "Giant" quesadilla as well. This one comes with guacamole which, take it or leave it, im not a huge fan of fillers in my guac, as far as tomato and onion end, in my opinion i prefer a thick guacamole, only avacado, (maybe) garlic salt, black pepper or red chili powder, some cilantro and IF anything is to be added to water it down, a very small amount of sour cream may be acceptable. This just seems dull to me how they do their guacamole. The lettuce I might prefer some interesting maybe chipotle rach on it but it was just lettuce. So overall Ill not be getting the quesadilla again Also got a horchata large drink ($2.45)approx 20oz, where they have free refills on the coke product fountains, the frescas drinks are $1 refill, which i did get 1 refill. Horchata not too bad.
My opinion on the salsa bar which comes with your order for free, is that I am so happy they have fresh grilled peppers!!! 10/10 on the bar because of those fresh peppers, hasnt been easy to find places that provode them in the salad bar. Other than that, they have 2 red salsas, I prefer the red one you can see the green onions in, as the other smooth red one you see more seeds in tastes a bit too citrusy for me. The green salsa is great, they also have chili marinated purple onions which are yum too.
Even after all this food, im really not terribly full, maybe Im just a fatty. I am content however. So overall if I were to come again, Id order 5 or 6 tripas tacos,...
Read moreThis is our favorite mexican place. But other reviews arent kidding. They need to get some better English in. We've been going in for years. But lately they've been slacking. A few weeks ago, I made an order and they didnt put my chimachinga in there. My fault for not checking before I left. Was not gonna drive 30 minutes back to get it. But I was totally surprised because they're usually really good on weekends when it's packed. But that was a slow Wednesday so I don't even know how they managed that. Our dentist is nearby. I just tried to call to make a pick up order. Asked for what's listed as "garlic prawn" on the menu and the lady kept asking if I wanted shrimp or something else in Spanish. I told her shrimp and she asked whether corn or flour tortillas. Corn. No problem. I asked for a chimachinga and it all goes downhill. She asked what and I said it again then got hunged up on. I called again. A guy picked up. I asked for the garlic prawn again and he keeps saying excuse me excuse me. So I give him the Spanish name camarone al mojo de ajo and he says "ok." Ask me if I wanted corn or flour again. No problem. Then I asked again for the chimachinga and I hear again "excuse me. excuse me?" Followed by being...
Read moreI’m now just getting to write a review but this is my boyfriend and I favorite spot. They offer weekly special that usually are priced under $10-$15. They’re so quick, super friendly and attentive. Never had an issue with food or service at all. That’s the main reason why I love coming here because they’re consistent with food and service. It’s become one of our regular spots. We always get torta, chile verde, enchilada, birria bowl, and tacos. They offer agua frescas that can use more flavor but I still enjoy it. They have free chips and offer a variety of sauces, salsas and sides. The place fits a lot of people but they can become very busy but even during rush hour, I’ve never waited more than 20mins for food. I love supporting this place and enjoy eating it at least two to three times a month. They have outdoor patio seating which I haven’t sat at yet. They do offer alcohol. The decor is simple with Mexican decorations and Mexican music blasting. Love it here. The only thing I would fix is the spice level of the hot sauces but other than that they do offer jalapeños and stuff.
