Horrible experience! We had went there for a wedding tasting, and strangely enough they charge before hand the $25 to have the tasting. She had mentioned over the phone she would send me the options so I could choose and have ready for the next day(which I thought was weird they could even get me in so fast.) Around 4pm, still hadn't received the options, called and spoke to a gal who apologized and went over my options which then I gave to her. So as we arrived to Sac from Chico, due to our wedding being in Roseville, they called at 9:25am, and out apt was scheduled for 9:30, asking which flavors we wanted. What? We are supposed to be starting this in 5 minutes and they had no idea what we wanted to taste, so I had mentioned when going in, that why wasn't we wanted to taste available and she had said they were, especially since I paid $25 to taste what WE would like. So 20 min later they come out with 2 flavors out of 4 and one wasn't even what we wanted to try and the density was horrible, crumbly, all over the place, and poorly frosted. I then asked about the other two flavors, well of course they didn't have them. They asked if we could come back down the following Friday to try them, which I wasn't very happy with as we had just drove down 1 1/2 hours for this. I told her I would follow up to see if we could make it with work schedule. The whole reason why I even considered this bakery was due to my parents having them on their wedding and they had raved about how great they were. I then called the next day and complained and reiterated everything, and how I wanted my money back and that if they cant have the cakes requested by the potential customer then you shouldn't schedule, she then said she couldn't refund over card but would send me cash. 1 week later, no cash or check. Called the Sunday after Easter, said she sent it out Easter morning, which was a week from when she said she would send it and now today almost 2 weeks later, still nothing. I would never recommend this place. They may be great for that on your way doughnut or pastry, but as far as scheduling tasting for potential weddings, they are unprofessional, and seem to careless to get...
Read moreThis 1 star is strictly for the customer service I just received seconds ago from this bakery. I am a regular here & I asked for 2 apple fritters that was in the front of the pan the employee proceeds to tell me that actually they are supposed to pull pastries from the back. If a paying customer happens to see a particular pastry they want you do not tell that customer that and give them the 2 pastries you want to give them! That is the worst customer service mind you I was the only person buying at the time this situation occurred. I don't know if it was just terrible customer service terrible company policy or if it was because I'm an black woman however I feel that it was totally rude tasteless and EXTREMELY terrible customer service! The pastries are very good & I usually have a great experience as far as customer service. To the older Hispanic women with the salt & pepper hair (sorry I didn't get your name) but you should know better...
Read moreThis was my most favorite secret gem since I was little but somehow someway this place has gone WAY DOWN HILL and sadly there's no need for me to ever return. I had never actually had a bad, gross, undercooked, tasteless donut until my last visit. Truthfully it was terrible. I also purchased what they called a lemon poppyseed muffin top that tasted like old cornbread, a peanut butter cookie that somehow had NO TASTE of peanut butter (how is that even possible?) & two other items that my friend & I just refused to even try after 3 disappointments already. It was an expensive and worthless waste of time & money. I would've surely gone back to get my money back but it wasn't worth the drive back. I don't know what happened to the quality of this place butt maybe their closure a few years back was a sign things had taken a turn...
