Americas Best Value Inn Downtown Convention Center — Hotel in Sacramento

If there was a negative I would give it. I reserved a room here for three days. I’m from Sacramento and this area has cleaned up a lot so I was expecting this hotel to be actually nice due to the pictures looked really nice. I came to the office around 1Pm because I had at noon and they said I could check in early. I’m pregnant and needed to sit down and get out of the heat. When I arrived they said the room wasn’t clean yet. It will be awhile. Okay so I waited, it was not 2, the room still wasn’t cleaned. I requested the first floor since I am pregnant and have a service dog so with luggage it would be easier. They said no there was only the second floor. So I keep waiting and now it’s 3 they said ohhhhh you want the first floor we have that. I had sat in my car for almost three hours in 100 degree weather. They gave me my key to my room and not was I shocked. The room radiated with cigarette smoke even though the signs all over the property say it’s non-smoking. None of the surfaces had been cleaned. Everything has food particles on it and the bedding didn’t even look clean. The sheets and pillow cases are stained, the bed doesn’t even have a fitted sheet on it just two top sheets. The shower curtain is cloth which is extremely disgusting and had pubic hair on it and is also stained. The back of the door has pee running down it. I took a Clorox wipe and touched all these spots and they came out so easy, one wipe. So I’m unsure what they maid was even doing in the room for three hours. On my last day I was in my room trying to work and a big man came into my room! I was terrified luckily I had my service animal, no staff came to apologize or anything. I wouldn’t let my worse enemy stay here. The “free parking” is a joke all 6 spots are occupied by broken down vehicles. DO NOT STAY HERE !!!!! I have photos to prove...

This place is so run down. It needs major work. If I reported all the code violations in my room alone....this place would be shut down. We have a microwave and frige in our room. The frige barely works. We've had to throw away the majority of our food. Freezer doesnt work at all. For 3 guest, they only give you 2 towels and ONE face cloth. The carpets are so dirty, your feet turn black by the time you walk from the bathroom to the bed after a shower. One of the drawers to the dresser doesnt work. We have a leak under the bathroom sink. Electric outlets with no covers. A.C. unit no cover. Holes in walls and bathroom door. No weather stripping on the door. Wood rot where the dead bolt goes. You dont need a key to get into my room. Just forcefully push my door and your in. The room is filthy! The T.V. is running off an extention cord because theres electricity issues in the room. No battery in the fire alarm. Missing light bulbs in the bathroom. The people that hang around this place....I just cant. People walking by my room trying to get in just to get in and steal. People knocking on our door at 3am 4am 5am looking for drugs or are so messed up from drugs that they came to the wrong room. The hotel offers a continental breakfast but because our family is here on a voucher program from Francis House....we're not included in that breakfast. Window screen bent. Im grateful to have a roof over our head because we are homeless but they need to fix alot of these problems. Im scared my 3 year old is going to get electricuted. They did offer to move us but the room they were going to move us too smelt like an ashtray and cigarette butt can. All the rooms have no smoking signs glued to the outside of the room doors. I would not recommend for anyone...

I dont want to rate this hotel. Yesterday I went to this hotel to check in because they are contracted with Francis House for the homeless. When I entered the lady was not welcoming. She was more concern about me returning the key then anything else. Also dont disturb the office.I inquired about roaches if I see one will you maintenance the room and spray. She was offended. So a gentlemen walked in and they spoke in they language. He was offended too that I asked a question about roaches. He said I have customers you come back at 3pm. I brought this incident up with the two staff at Francis House that I was not respected no professionalism at the hotel. And felt disrespected. The two ladies at Francis House also degraded me and was belligerent. I felt no compassion by either one. Oh you homeless don't you need the hotel also oh sound like they not going to give it to you. Well you don't have to take it. Your on they property when you leave here it's what they say. I will not be belittled or disrespected by no one. I was not treated fairly or in a professional manner. Francis House should contract with a better more high rated and respected hotel. I never been treated so rudely by staff from Francis House ever in 15 years. I went back I said I can be one of your best tenant. He said I don't need a tenant. I said I had one question he said what is it. I said you answered it. He proceeded to tell me I spoke with Francis House we will not be taking your voucher. I was devastated distraught and disappointed of Francis House how they handled this incudent that day.
