EDIT: manager reached out and apologized for the mishap and communication breakdown; she assured me she would work on improving mobile/online order processes. Updated my stars to reflect my willingness to try them out again.
Placed an order for pick-up since time was limited. Ordered coffee, smoothie and açaí bowl. There was a large line of people placing orders, and one staff assisting them. I arrived 20 mins after placing my order. There was no sign of food waiting for pick-up, so I tried to get the attention of one of many staff working—all appeared to be very busy, no eye contact even acknowledging me waiting in the pick-up area. After 5 mins I asked the one taking the orders if I was in the right spot—she said yes. Ok, so I wait a few more mins. They are busy—that’s cool. About 10 mins later, they call my name for my coffee and hand it to me. I figure the rest of my food (the smoothie and the bowl will be out momentarily. Another 10 mins go by and I’m getting anxious. I have to stop someone rushing by to inquire about the rest of my order. She finds the smoothie right away (it been ready for awhile sitting in their fridge) but she tells me they didn’t get the acai order. ??? I pull up the order in my email and it’s there. Meanwhile she has to ask a manager about it. She comes back and says they are out of açaí and couldn’t call me because they didn’t have my number. (My phone number was in my email receipt.) Things happen, I get that. But I wasted so much time because they didn’t acknowledge the out of stock item (and hand me the smoothie when they gave me the coffee. Seems like everyone is busy, but there is a lack of communication between stations. Just very disappointing. Won’t be back soon. And I hope I get the refund for the açaí bowl...
Read moreThis place gets stars for its atmosphere. It’s cute, chic, and very in right now. Same look as Karma, when they were in this space. I give them kudos for making their own granola, nut butters, etc. But the food just doesn’t match the price. I’m a food editor and a huge lover of local food in our area, so I’m willing to pay whatever for a great meal, particularly one that’s homemade with real (and local) ingredients. But this just isn’t there yet. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I ordered an açaí bowl and turmeric latte. For $11 I expected a hearty açaí bowl, but what I got was about 5 slices of banana, a very light sprinkling of granola (didn’t really know it was there) maybe a splash of nut butter and a bunch of chocolate chips. And a super runny açaí base (about 1/3 cup smoothie essentially). I recommend the owners visit Good Vibes and see what an açaí bowl looks like—piled high with fruit and a great açaí base and a nice helping of granola. For what I got, it wasn’t worth the price at all. To top that off, this place has a major bee problem, with bees everywhere. I had 3 bees die in my açaí bowl while trying to eat it. This is a major concern as someone may get hurt at some point with the number of bees flying in food and drinks, on people, and in the drink prep area. The couple next to us left because of the number of bees in their food and drinks. We ended up moving, which helped a bit, but the bees were still present and clearly in the drink prep area as well. I’ll be back to try something different. The drinks were good, so that’s a plus. But the food is lacking for the price and what it could be. Hope they improve in this area (and have someone out to check out the bee problem) because it will be a great addition to Safety Harbor if they can...
Read moreStopped here today to support a local business. Parked in back in a handicap spot because I’m disabled. There are sign on the side of the building on two faces of the building but no clear information about where the place is. After walking around and sticking my head in restaurants on the ground floor and trying locked doors to see if this was the right place, I gave up. On the way back to the car I see a sign tucked inside an external staircase that mentions the ADA elevator is in front of the building. At this point I was tired from trying to get this place and left.
I knew I tried at least one of the doors that was outside the elevator and it was locked. I didn’t bother trying the other because there was information on the door for a property company so assumed it wasn’t the right place. A note on the external signs, and one the doors by the elevator, saying the place is on the second floor would really help people...
