The Brinehouse in Safety Harbor Elevates the Art of Brine A Flavor-Packed Dining Experience on Main Street by Tampa Bay Food Tours
Located right on Main Street, The Brinehouse is the sister restaurant to the beloved Dunedin Smokehouse. Fans of the Smokehouse will recognize some familiar flavor profiles, but The Brinehouse stands on its own with unique brines, house-made sauces, and thoughtful presentation. Currently, they’re open for dinner and offer weekend lunch service.
Starters That Shine We kicked things off with the charred cauliflower florets— tossed in a lemon agave buffalo hot sauce and topped with gorgonzola crumbles.
Another standout starter is the maple bourbon brined chicken wings, available with a variety of house-made sauces: Each sauce brings its own personality—don’t be afraid to ask for a sampler!
Entrées & Sides That Steal the Show Entrées come with a choice of two sides, and in many cases, the sides are stars in their own right.
The petite side salad was more like a meal—brimming with fresh ingredients and topped with one of their house-made dressings.
The Green Goddess potato salad deserves its own fan club—herbaceous, creamy, and bright.
Other favorites: garlicky broccolini with gorgonzola fondue and crispy parmesan Brussels sprouts—both bursting with bold flavor.
We highly recommend the Texas Two-Step mixed grill platter, which lets you sample two of the five protein entrées.
Angus beef tri-tip steak: Coffee-brined and grilled, then topped with a wild mushroom ancho chili sauce. Tender and rich—this dish changed my mind about tri-tip.
Duroc pork tenderloin: Garlic-cumin brined and finished with a tangy cherry pepper BBQ glaze.
Both proteins were perfectly cooked and deeply flavorful.
Final Thoughts The Brinehouse is a must-try spot for anyone who appreciates bold flavors, careful technique, and locally rooted hospitality. Whether you're here for the wings, the brined pork, or simply those addictive Brussels sprouts, you're in for a treat.

We came back during restaurant week, I had visited once before on what was apparently the very first day they had reopened, and it was really smoky, (to the point that it burned my eyes), so I wasn't sure about this place. But, the food was good and they were, apparently, just working out the kinks of the new kitchen, because, I experienced none of that on this visit, and when I tell you that this is my new favorite restaurant in Safety Harbor, I'm not kidding!!! It was restaurant week, so we were ordering off of a limited menu. A few appetizers, only one I was really interested in, were the fried pickles. I like fried pickles, I don't usually get excited about them, but OMFG THESE PICKLES!!! The first bite was like there was a party happening in my mouth. They were so good and I was so excited about them, my wonderful husband stopped eating them so that I could horde them all like I was Golem and they were My Precious!!! Dude...they were amazing!
I ordered (I forget the name of it) the portobello sandwich and it was also a 10 out of 10. After gorging myself with fried pickles, I couldn't finish my sandwich so I brought half of it home. It reheated, days later, to the same delicious texture and firmness that it was delivered to me straight out of the kitchen. My husband had the chicken french dip and raved about how delicious it was too! They're house sangria is delicious and I love that they change up the options.
I'm sorry that I forgot to take pictures, because I was too busy shoving fried pickles into my face! I will add some the next time I go back. Because, I'm definitely going back. I will, in fact, be hard pressed to want to eat anywhere else in Safety Harbor as long as Brinehouse is...
Read moreMy mom and I were in the area visiting Phillipe Park when we needed some lunch. We decided to give Brinehouse a try. When we arrived there was plenty of seating available and were able to sit down right away.
Our waitress was very nice and explained some favorites since this was our first time here. They were really accommodating when needing to ask for items to be held off. My mom got the Messy Moulson poutine(held the cheese and Bana sauce). It definitely added up to its name of being messy but she said it was really good.
I ordered the kids chicken fingers with fries for my toddler. It came with ketchup and a spicy I think ranch sauce. He enjoyed them.
For myself I order the the chicken dip sandwich. It was really tasty, it came with a dipping ajus sauce that tasted like pho soup. I enjoyed that dipping sauce but honestly dipping it in the spicy ranch sauce from my kiddos chicken finger meal was much better! I also ordered a peach fig sangria and I was hoping it would have more peach flavor rather than so much citrus flavor, it was good nonetheless.
Only con about Brinehouse was there was no diaper changing station in the bathroom so parents just make sure you are aware of this.
Can't wait to bring my hubby back here as I'm sure he'd...
