Brisky's BBQ — Restaurant in Saint Augustine

"Now, we're talkin'!!!" Today was my first visit to Brisky's and I must tell you that it will not be my last!!! Holy cow (excuse the pun)!!! I ordered the beef brisket and half-rack of pork ribs with my sides being fried okra and collard greens! Absolutely DELISH!!! Brisky's hit the high mark on EVERYTHING!!! I have to tell you that in the past year alone, I have eaten at several BBQ joints in the Jacksonville and St. Augustine, and in my humble opinion, Brisky's is right at the very top!!! To be fair, it's a tie for first place when it comes to BBQ!!! Brisky's is no-nonsense, down-home, REAL BBQ!!! Diners, throw away your knives!!! The brisket and pork ribs are cooked and seasoned PERFECTLY and the meat simply falls off the bone! You don't even need to add any BBQ sauce for both are so tasty by themselves!!! Just writing this review is making my mouth water for more Brisky's BBQ!!! Their fried okra was seasoned and fried beautifully and their collards, just old-fashioned and simply delish!!! By the way, when was the last time you had to owner walk around to check on you and tell you about their upcoming specials...my mouth was watering even though I was enjoy the mouth-watering brisket and ribs! This is a FAMILY business and you can feel the warmth and care around their restaurant and it simply extends to their meals...you can taste it and smell it! As soon as you walk into their door, you say to yourself, "I'm home!" This review might sound a bit much but when it's been a while till finding a goldmine of BBQ, I'll be sure to shout it on the mountain! I am a tiny bit late to review this place and I wish I had a chance to thank the owner/general manager (?) Again for everything he helped out with! My fiance and I walked in for the first time living here to visit and were greeted amazingly by the waitresses/cashiers. They explained the order process (im sure we looked like lost puppies) and how we order up front and wait for our name to be called after ordering. I mentioned to the cashier I had celiac and she went and got the owner/manager for verification on all the food and what was safe for me to eat. He walked out and checked if it was just preference/intolerance or celiac (more serious) and I confirmed it was celiac. He said the staff takes amazing care with making sure there's no cross contamination and that the utensils and boards are cleaned in the back before a gluten free order and I have to say this was amazing! After we sat down he also came by to check on our order and even brought it to us and made sure everything was delicious. Which it was! I had the pork, sweet potato, and green beans and he even told me to use the sweet sauce which is gluten free. My fiance got the pork, onion rings and fries and bread pudding and he loved it! I always get so scared going out to eat and dont go out often because of my celiac and feel like a huge bother. This place did not make me feel that way at all! Amazing experience, great care, clean atmosphere, nice music playing, probably a good local place with regulars because we noticed a lot of people knew each other. Great BBQ food, great taste. Has all you expect plus a couple other options other beach BBQ places cant provide (clike the awesome fried corn on cob and house-cut fries). Drink containers are huge. Thank you Peter noticing mine was empty before I left. The personal touch makes it a cut above. The owner Jeff made his rounds to personally get feed back and give help several times (he enjoys interaction). Servers picked up our trays quickly while we talked. The 3 registers open at all times made any length line disappear fast (dont get scared by a line when you enter). And the service people (like Sarah) helped first timers like me navigate the unique card machine and menu as if she was reading my mind. Very roomy accomodations and attractive decor made for a great atmosphere to meet people - which we were doing. Our host (a local Flagler College coach) helped us choose to meet here and even what to choose (Brisket tacos). The owner even hyped the Sat special (an even more flavorful taco). Looking forward to coming back. The whole atmosphere fit why we had our mtg - to discuss how to effectively help and serve people. Thanks for the example Briskys!
