I often find myself feeling curious about trying new things but always being almost shy when it comes to going somewhere with next to no knowledge of what I’m about to try. I don’t want to look “dumb” but let me tell you from day 1 coming to this place I’ve only been met with kindness and unmatched interactions with the employees ready to not only sell me wine but also teach and and guide me through my newly found obsession! This place is a gem the selection of wine is finely curated and even the cheapest bottles are picked with great consideration I’m not only impressed with the service I have received here but they solidified my curiosity and have turned me into somebody who genuinely and looks forward to trying new wines! If your curious go there talk to them don’t be shy at all they will guide you in whatever direction with grace and kindness! I love this place so much I may be new to this natural wine stuff but if you’re driving west from St. Louis you need to stop here because it I think this is probably your best choice when it comes to finding a good bottle of wine this side of the Missouri River for hundreds of miles! Small boutique wines are their specialty. They have some very interesting selections and the staff seemed very knowledgeable. The only comment that I would have, is if you are selling small production wines, that people are not familiar with, you would be better off having some samplings going on. Even at $30-$50 per bottle, people are not going to buy if they already have a standby wine that they like. Schnuks has a very good selection of wines and you need to be competitive. Excellent selection of cheeses. Good olives, prosciutto, salami, and coppa (when available). Small but decent beer selection and very good wine selection of non-typical wine makers. These wines are from all over the globe. If you are looking for something different to explore, this is the place to come. They also have a small selection of spirits. Be prepared for a bit of a wait if getting cheese and meat as they are sometimes busy and it takes a while to cut and package everything. It is well worth the wait though.
