Very long story short. Me and Fiancé (now husband) popped in to give our final details to Laura (Laulie Cakes) 2 weeks before our wedding. We had been in contact for months prior. Imagine my surprise when we walked in and realized that Laulie Cakes no longer existed and we were NOT contacted by the previous owner (but that's for another review 😉). The new owner, Mckenna, obviously had no idea we had ordered our cutting cake prior. We explained everything to McKenna and I obviously was very upset about the situation. McKenna was AMAZING and took all our information for the "new" cutting cake. Her and her team stepped up and had our cake ready and it was wonderful! generally i only write supportive reviews of small businesses, but my experience here leads me to make an exception. their website offers no concrete info about ordering. 72 hours before an event i needed a modest request: a dozen cupcakes of any flavor. i tried calling during business hours, twice, but they did not answer their phones. i emailed them and trusted that the order would be filled, and stopped planning for the event. 48 hours later i received a curt reply informing me that they need 7-14 days advanced notice for such. two weeks notice for a dozen cupcakes? i am flummoxed. there was no "sorry we couldn't make it work" or "hope to make it work another time". depressing chain bakeries provide better service than this, although i don't want to patronize them. do better,...

My 4yo son and I stopped into Fig & Lyle’s for the first time today. The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming. The space is very clean and there was a unique variety of delicious treats and breads. The shop is family owned & operated with the “older” folks teaching the younger ones how to do things like pack items and cashier. Everyone had bright smiles and joyful personalities. My child is autistic and doesn’t have a lot of the expected social skills. They were patient with him as he tried to order our items. When he asked to go potty, they let him use the staff bathroom and when he came out chatting, they all laughed.
