MeMe’s cafe & breakfast — Restaurant in Saint Charles

It was a quiet Sunday morning. The lord awoke me from slumber and hunger was on my mind. Desiring the taste of something new. I was alerted that this place was now open and figured it was worth a shot to try. I hopped in the car with my best mate and we ventured to the location. I was greeted with friendly faces and positive affirmations. I studied the menu looking for what to order. I was told the cinnamon roll sandwich was a hit. Without second guessing, something told me that this was the destined decision. When the food arrived to my table...it was everything. The first appearanced looked like the woman of my dreams. The first bite tasted like the rest of my life. Instantly an explosion of flavor took me to a peaceful bliss. Reminiscent of the first time I held hands with a pretty girl. The next bite just as grand. The sandwich put me in a movie where I was the main character. Where the plot wasn't a mystery. Where you knew my story would end with happiness. Accompanied by Chris Stapeltons Tennesee Whiskey. Needless to say this sandwich didn't just have everything I wanted, but everything I needed. After eating it my life changed. I told the woman I was crushing on that I loved her. I rekindled broken relationships with my brothers. I fixed a car. With one left hand. Some of you may wonder what that means. Allow me to tell you what it means. I swim in a race and made sure i finished first just to race back to this Cafe to get that sandwich again. It will change your life. That thang slapped....

Well, it depends on what you are looking for. For me, as a Chef, this is a coffee shop that sells breakfast. Quick serve items that are not elevated in any way. Here's my take on MeMe's Cafe.

I ordered 3 things, and my total was $15.

Medium coffee, cinnamon roll, and a Texas Breakfast Sandwich.

Coffee was coffee. I am very familiar with the Farmer Brothers Brand, and it was ok. No Splenda, so I used SF Creamer.

Texas Breakfast Sandwich was a Texas Toast Sandwich with 4 sausages (split), 2 fried eggs, and American Cheese. It was a decent sandwich. I added hot sauce.

And last, a Cinnamon Roll impulse buy. I asked the lady (maybe MeMe herself) if these were made here, and she said YES. Maybe she didn't understand what I asked because that roll definitely had "box store vibes" all over it. 🤔 Not very sweet, and it had that frozen laminated taste to the crust. BUT, it could have been a frozen product??? I should have asked if it was a scratch-made product.

Hey, I am glad there is a family owned breakfast spot close in my neighborhood. Go stop in and try it...

The moment we walked in we were greeted by smiles and a pleasing view of tantalizing pastries in the glass case. My husband and I are trying to lose some weight so no carbs for us 😕 but they were very accommodating with allowing us to exchange the hashed browns and toast for extra sausage/bacon. The breakfast was served sooner than expected and was just like I made it at home 💗 My husband and I admired the well-stocked tables and general cleanliness of the place. We noticed the cheerful staff and they all appear to be a family. We love to see a family-owned/run business providing hand-made goods. We picked out some of the wide variety of donuts, turnovers, pastries, and of course a cinnamon roll to bring home to our kids which, I believe, Meme boxed for us herself, affectionately labeling it with her business name and info. We highly recommend this...
