As soon as you open the door to this charming bistro, you'll feel like you've been wrapped in a hug and welcomed home from a long journey.
It really was that adorable.
Let's start with the food. I ordered the croque Madame and my husband ordered the southwestern chicken. The croque madam requires a medium egg and rarely, and I mean rarely, is it ever correct. But they made it perfect and it was delicious! I only ate half of it because I have a small appetite but my husband finished his and the half of mine I didn't finish.
While we were waiting for our food. I was commenting on one of the pastries in the display to my husband, wondering what it was. A young man who was obviously waiting on another table stopped on his way back to the front to explain to me exactly what it was. He had overheard me. Rarely, do you see that kind of service these days.
They serve in assortment of savory and sweet crepes as well as pastries, coffees, teas and assorted other things.
Please note they do have table service. So if you're planning on eating in, sit down at a table and a waitress will be by to help you.
One of the cutest things about the place is that it's decorated so nicely. Not trying to be flashy. The establishment has a cozy atmosphere and is tastefully designed. I have to say one of the cutest things was I didn't realize until our meal was over that the plate my food arrived on was actually a paper plate. It was so pretty and fancy for a paper plate! But it was a very nice touch that I liked.
My husband and I went to a Gordon Ramsay restaurant and wasted $400 on a dinner I will only remember for the bad food and poor service. Gordon Ramsay could really take lessons from this little place. Stop by and stop by often I can't imagine anyone ever being...
Read moreSaw it was open and wanted to give it a try! We ordered one classic crepe and it was taking a while (which understandable it was kind of busy) but we started to notice that the people who ordered after us were getting their stuff before us (it was crepes and drinks, not just drinks). It had been over 30 minutes and only one time did someone check in with us. I went up to the counter and they did remember what we ordered, but said it would be a little bit longer. My husband noticed it didn't look like the tickets were being put in order on the counter from when they were received, so was wondering if maybe ours got lost or given to someone else. I am giving at least 2 stars due to the staff being friendly as we had to ask for a refund because we unfortunately couldn't wait any longer for it. We will try again, but maybe try to come when it isn't as busy so I can update this review because all the crepes coming out...
Read moreI was excited to see a new coffee shop open in the old Frontier Perk spot, and even more excited to see the 5 star reviews! It’s pretty new still and does have a lot of potential, and I will note that we went as Festival of the Little Hills was starting so it was very busy. The poor server bless her was doing her best, but she was handling the entire restaurant and was slammed. It would make more sense, I think, to do counter service and open seating with table numbers. The food was okay, but I didn’t see anyone order a crepe which I found odd. Anyway, we were in a bit of a hurry, so I ordered a breakfast croissant thinking it was a sandwich. It was not. It was a croissant boat with a ball of scrambled eggs in it. It tasted fine, was a little cold from sitting until our poor server could run it out. Again, this place has potential! I think a couple tweaks and the concept...
