Come here tonight for the first time as a pickup order. I have wanted to come here in the past but it’s always super crazy to get into the parking lot. I ordered online, the order was ready 10 minutes past the pickup estimate but they were slammed. I got home and realized they forgot a portion of one of the meals (mine) lol so I went back up there. They were even crazier busy but I got my remake within 5 minutes. I can’t speak for my family because they were all done eating by time I got back home but I ordered the pick three, chicken chimichanga, beef puffy taco, bean and beef wet burrito Mexican rice and beans. It definitely isn’t authentic Mexican but it was really delicious actually. I was surprised the puffy taco and chicken chimichanga was so delicious even though it was kind of cold by time I got to eat it. The wet burrito was also really good and the beans come with yellow cheese fyi but still very good. The chicken chimichanga is only about 2.5” long and an inch thick, they are delicious but very small so keep that in mind when ordering. Okay so one thing I loved about this place was how they package the food, they put the items in their own containers to prevent them from getting mushy and mixed together, I also love that the cups and all the containers were paper and plastic products so I can recycle them, that to me is a WIN! One thing I didn’t like was the way the parking lot is laid out, it’s almost impossible to park on the other side because the drive through, if anything this has prevented me from coming here in the past. Now that I have experienced it I will definitely come back to support this business and even though they forgot a portion of my meal I’m still going to give 5 stars based on service and food quality.

Pretty good Mexican food place and the only place around me that I can get a puffy taco. Which are delicious and should be tried by all. I do wish they would fix their rice though it just doesn't seem right and it hasn't changed, last time we were here was probably four or five years ago and it was the same then. Oh yeah if you want to come here and eat there was a sign on the door saying that June 20th 2022, and I heard a women working there saying they were going to close the indoor area down to focus on the drive-thru, indefinitely. What a bummer. The chimichanga we got was REALLY tiny wow, should have put a fork in there for sizing but you can get an idea from the taco next to it and the little bit of guacamole. Thought we were gettin an ok deal till we saw that lol. They're drive thru is always busy and usually out to the road, the menu and where you order are on the opposite side of the parking lot from the building because the line is so long.

It's not as good as the original location... but it's still El Charro. I'm 46 and have been going to El Charro since the original owner, Poncho, on Utica at Masonic! Their tacos are the best of any I've had... anywhere! Their enchiladas are great as well. This is where I learned to make nachos... I've oven baked mine ever since I was a kid. The only disappointing thing, and greatly so, is the forever staple of kids eat free on Sundays. Unfortunately, at the SCS location, it's not possible for dinner. It only counts for dine in, which we tried, but we're forced to go through the drive thru since the dining room was closed. Kids eat free until 9pm, but when we went at 730, the dining room was already closed, and they wouldn't honor the deal. I still love El Charro, we just won't go back to this location that it literally at the end of our street. We'll make the trek to Fraser.

EL GARBO!!! this place is terrible. I shoulda known something was up when I passed by and nobody was up in there. That was my first red flag I missed. Then I call the place and before I can even tell them my name they yell “if this is a carry out order you can’t use the drive thru!” Then I place my order and I ask if I can have some grilled onions on my taco they said we can only put raw onions on tacos for whatever reason and if I want grilled onions they can give me a side of them for 5 dollars!! Like ok I can buy a 7 whole onions at the grocery store for that but whatever. I order 3 tacos and a side of onions and my bill is 23 dollars. 5 dollars per taco is outrageous as I knew right there that’s the most expensive taco I’ve ever bought and it’s not even authentic Mexican food this is American tex-mex. So I get home and try open the bag and they gave me some chips and salsa. And I’m thinking to myself surely this must be good I just paid 25 bucks. And NOPE! The salsa is watery with no flavor! How can u mess that up? Then I try tacos and instantly regret not going to Taco Bell and just getting some tacos from them cause honestly Taco Bell is 1/3 of the price and is not much worse. Don’t be fooled people this is fast food for fine dining prices. They have a drive thru that should have clued me in. Then of course about 45 minutes after my stomach is bubbling cause the quality was just average at best and now I got...

Waited 40 min to get 5 tacos rice and dip. When we asked to get our dip after we already had waited 30 min we were told "ill see what I can do" and the "waitress" or whatever they are labeled, walked off. Finally after getting our food, the server did not apologize for the wait. As someone who works in the food industry I can forgive a long wait, I can forgive rude service, but by God as my witness I cannot forgive the food. That puffy taco was the worst taco i ever had the misfortune of eating. It is 90% shell, 5% ground beef with little seasoning or flavor, and then 5% lettuce and cheese. The shell tasted like sandpaper soaked in dish water, which is how im assuming it puffed up. The queso was good, not anything special but we enjoyed it. Compared to the tacos it was a blessing. Tacos were terrible, service was awful, and wait was long. Prices were just as bad for 5 tacos, rice, and dip I paid $42 I even tipped 18% (you pay beforehand) because I know how it is to work in the food industry, but I wish I didn't at all, no one seemed to really care much, beside the one server, who was not ours who got us boxes and a bag. To the girl with the brace on her hand, thank you for making the time not completely awful. Overall...
