Hodell's Cake Shop — Restaurant in Saint Clair Shores

I bought $20.00 of packis, gifted 10, ate 1 Buttercream and 1 Chocolate Buttercream----they were hard and stale, at least a day old, maybe 2. These should have been on the Day Old Rack sold at discounted prices!! I'm sure my gift of 10 was also stale---resulting in another lost Customer. So disappointing for the price I paid!!! Hodell's doesn't make their Packis---they buy them elsewhere. Why would they buy stale packis, then sell them at fresh baked prices??? AND Risk losing valuable Customers?????? Unfortunately, this is not the first time Hodell's has sold Day Old Baked Goods as fresh baked. Last week, I bought a Sourcream donut---it was hard! Cinnamon Buns have been Day Old Plus but sold as Fresh!! When I've asked Clerks for Day Old discount, they always say no---we don't do that. It is NOT okay to sell Stale Baked Goods at fresh baked prices!!!!!!!!! Try Vitos Bakery in Clinton Township OR Sweetheart Bakery---both very consistent. I'm done...

I have never been in to this bakery, yesterday I stopped in to get some cookies to bring into work. I picked up different varieties of their butter cookies. They are truly heavenly. I’ve had these butter cookies from other bakeries and they’re always so hard, you need to dip them in your coffee to soften them. These ones were nice and soft and a subtle sweetness. I can’t wait to swing up there today to get some more. What a pleasant surprise. Two thumbs up, and the variety that they have in the bakery is incredible. This place is wonderful ! I am finally getting around to writing a review. My husband and I had our wedding in 2012 and the cake was amazing ! My favorite is the banana cake .. I have even come back after that just to get a small banana cake here and there lol. They were also so kind and very nice to work with. I remember having to make some changes with the cake and them being so patient and willing to work with us. We had a grooms cake too that turned out lovely !
