The service was great, the food on the other hand, wasn't. My roomate and I stopped by for an easy dinner after work. I ordered a small Cesar salad with dressing on the side for $4.00 which was resonable. However, the broccoli bites I ordered ( for a whopping $6.50 for a small container) not only had fried pickles mixed in( I don't like pickles nor did I order them, otherwise I wouldn't be complaining about this) as if they'd been fried together. The broccoli was overcooked and swimming in oil, i understand that they are fried, but that by far has been the poorest excuse for broccoli bites I've ever had the misfortune of eating. My roommate ordered a cheese steak and when she opened it up, it looked like ground beef rather than skirt or shredded steak. She also ordered a small order of fries which she promptly threw away as well because they were also swimming in grease and had no flavor. Overall, this was a disappointing dining experience and the price was NOT worth the quality of food we received. I hope these guys have better luck in the future, as they do seem like a very family friendly place to...
Read moreThe Fish and Chips were fantastic! Made with read cod fish! You don't find a lot of that down here, so that in and of itself was amazing. The clam strips were moist, yet crispy as well. My son had the steak and cheese sub and he said it was delicious too. You could see the roll was full of all the goodness of meaty steak, lovely cheese, and the onions and mushrooms were clearly visible in both halves of the sandwich. Overall, the quality of the food was spot on, fresh and prepared with obvious skill and an eye on making the food taste good. If you are also from New England, you'll enjoy the fish and chips, even though it's not haddock, cod is my second choice. Now if only they had clam cakes, I'd be there every day, lol, and lobster rolls and stuffed clams would have me there twice as...
Read moreMy husband and daughter told me App's was the best place to go for dinner and since I have never been there I thought I would give it a try. That was a big mistake. My lasagna was greasy, my daughters roast beef sub was dry, the clams and mushrooms were over cooked and my salad had a bad bitter taste to it. When I brought it to the waitress attention she told me that they did but oil and vinegar on the sandwich, and that the clams and mushrooms were frozen that is why it tasted like they were over cooked. The food made my family sick to our stomach was up all night vomiting. For $70.00 the meal wasn't worth it. The waitress wouldn't even take a percentage off the bill for compensation for horrible food and service. Won't be going back...
