My family would order often at the restaurant for its great authentic Dominican meals, however after my experience today we will spend our money elsewhere.
My mother-in-law ordered food over the phone on 10/2, but she made an error with my rice option. When I asked politely to have the rice changed out the female employee at the front counter cut me of mid sentence and pushed my bag of food to me saying “here’s your order rudely”.
I was a bit shocked as this was uncalled for the restaurant was dead and the rice option I asked to replace was literally in a hot holding area right where the counter was. This easily could’ve been accommodated, but the employee was clearly too lazy to make an effort.
I thought this rude behavior was shocking and out of nowhere and asked her not to speak to me in the tone she did as my request was not unreasonable. I was very bothered by this experience and asked if I can speak to a manager the employee responded “how can I help you”. I don’t know if she truly is a manager, but if so she’s clearly mistaken on how you address customers.
I always what’s to support small local businesses and the food here is great, but if this the type of experience we can expect we don’t plan on returning. My family and I always ordered here when we get together about 7-8 of us. I guess we will have to take our business elsewhere.
If I can share a message with the owner. I hope you don’t allow your staff or any manager to conduct themselves in this manner. This is the restaurant industry and a small request shouldn’t be that big of an issue. If losing repeat business over a bowl of rice exchange that was paid for is an inconvenience for you that’s the wrong mindset to have. Hopefully no one has the experience I had because the food is great, but that type of behavior from staff is...
Read moreSo my wife told me that she saw everyone talking about this place on the Next Door app and that the food was delicious. So we gave it a shot on Friday night. The place is very clean, and there are a few benches where you can eat your food. So I got the mofongo con churrasco (skirt steak with a side of macaroni salad and one large limonada). Despite the fact that it was a busy day, the food was freshly prepared and arrived quickly. My wife ordered the Bistec Encebollado (onion steak) with Habichuelas Rojas (red beans) over arroz blanco (white rice). She chose her favorite Morir Soando (Orange Juice and Milk). The mofongo was freshly made right out of the kitchen , tender and seasoned. The skirt steak I ordered was cooked to perfection; it was fresh, not overcooked, sliced into pieces, and not overly thick. The steak was flavorful and easy to chew. The macaroni salad was delicious; I had no idea they added cilantro, which is unusual; however, if you like cilantro, make sure you get this. Overall, the chef did an excellent job preparing our food, and the portion size was sufficient for us to finish it. This restaurant is highly recommended for...
