Many years ago before Covid, we used to come several times a month to this location. It was the best Mexican food in St. Cloud. Fast forward to a little after Covid. They were still kind of good, but you can taste the quality and it declined. Had a few bad experiences and so we had not come here in about two years. We decided to give them a try today and thought that after all this time they would have done better. I’m sad to say I ordered the grande Asada and got a fat infused half steak, the portion and the quality of steak was less than subpar. Service was slow. It was full of people, however, and it was a rainy day that still no excuse it took about 20 minutes for the servers to recognize us and take our order. I had them take away my meal and I got the chicken soup which my husband also had and that I had to say was very yummy and I enjoyed it. I don’t think we’ll be coming here anytime soon again I just hope that St. Cloud gets a really good Mexican restaurant aside from this one and the one called agave because they are both in the same class not that great but we’re great at one time

GREAT Mexican Chicken Soup, but they don’t know how to make it presentable. It has a rich broth, flavorful chicken breast, carrots, onions, cilantro, bell peppers and avocado chunks. The soup is stewed long enough for the vegetables to be tender. Problem is the peppers, onions and chicken are chopped so big they stick out of your mouth and splash everywhere. When it came you couldn’t even tell it had avocado, it looked like chicken breast soup with one huge chunk of bell pepper on top. But after I stirred it about 7 avocado chunks and rice came up. I’ll definitely order this to go! The enchiladas were good as was the rice. The refried beans were too covered in sauce, according to my husband. (He’s a California boy whose favorite Mexican restaurant, Emilio’s, was in Hemet and it had the Mexican flag up). He said the taco was soggy. But we had wonderful service! We will be back.

Ate here this evening and had an awful experience! We waited a very long time after being seated to be acknowledged by anyone, then after getting our chips and salsa, my husband pulls out a RUBBER-BAND with his chip from the salsa cup! When we told the waiter, he pulled it out with his fingers and just said "sorry." Our food was just okay, and then we waited almost an hour to get our check. Service was extremely slow! I finally asked for a supervisor and was told there was no one there because she had an event to attend. I told him this was no way to take care of customers. He said he was sorry, and that he told someone about the rubber-band in our food and they told him "oh well". Our server told us he was sorry and he knew the service sucked. He just said it was a bad service day, put our check down and walked away. We will not ever return to this establishment.

Always amazed and it's ALWAYS AMAZZZZING! What else can I say? The cocktails are always perfect(esp.Margaritas...The beer is fresh... the salsa is made there & tastes just made & the chips are almost as good. As far as atmosphere, it's great... just a simple , little fun spot to hang put casually, or drink at the bar, either or. They take large parties, but usually I sit in the front booths which are really private(4people.fit). Me & my family.love those seats(un by the entrance in a row and next to bar-- they're quieter and out.of everyone's way). Bathrooms are fine, unlike most nasty restaurant bathrooms. Never seen 'em unusable, at all. Very kind service and servers. Hey, the place has been here for a cook's age, they know how to work it. Authe tic Mexican food, 100%. Anything u order will NEVER disappoint u, IF U LIKE MEXICAN 👍🏼😉...PERIOD! I'm a vegetarian, and they have pretty much every single dish there that u can have turned either vegetarian or even Vegan(if that's how u roll), but they're not a vegan place, so don't worry, for everyone else, there's PLENTY of Carne asada for the entire family ×10! They've got a menu the size of the restaurant....and it's all goodwhich usually isn't the case with large mended restaurants. As I said thow, they know their shi! ;-)) If your veg in any way, get one of the birrotoes...make it your veg. Style. Theyre the best. There's about 3 different ones that are totally different but all mesmerizing as a meatless meal, even with no dairy, they seriously kick @$$... SIZZLE 🔥. It's really unexplainable. If u haven't gone and u live here, you have sinned... if you're visiting, don't let the powers that be down. GO EAT HERE!!!!...

So, I will agree that the service was a little bit slow. I got there & sat down pretty quickly. I waited for about 11 minutes before a waitress walked by & said we will be with you shortly. Then about 15 minutes later, the waiter, he came over asking if I'd like something to drink. So, 26 minutes later, I got the chips & salsa & was able to give my drink request. I went for the Mango Margarita. It took another 7 minutes but it arrived and it was delicious. So when he brought the drink over, I then gave him my food order. I did the garlic shrimp (camarónes al Ajo) with chicken breast strips with rice and beans. That took 12 minutes and I finished my chips and salsa and asked for more while I was waiting on my meal. The food, the main dish finally arrived & it was good. I did notice that the portion size was a bit smaller compared to what I've had at other restaurants for the same meal. But the shrimp were big & cooked very well and the food all in all was good. So once I was done, I waited another 10 or so minutes sitting there, waiting on my waiter to show so I could get the check. He finally came by, asked if I wanted anything else. I said no, just the check please. 2 minutes later he came back with it. I gave him my card. 5 minutes later, he came back with the card and the receipt. I signed & I was out of there. So my experience was ok. The food was good but the service is indeed, a little slow, and I'm not sure if it's on purpose because the place was not busy at all. Out of all the tables there in the main room, only 4 tables were occupied. Later on, 5 tables were occupied. But that was it, not filled, not busy, but yet slow service. But that's just...

I came with my parents to enjoy a nice dinner. The atmosphere and the server were great. The food however was in my personal opinion, mediocre. The pork in salsa verde had absolutely no seasoning or love in it. All I tasted was a bare minimum amount of salt, bay leaf and onion. The salsa verde also only tasted of onion and a pinch of salt. Where's the garlic? The cilantro?? Mexican food is supposed to be robust with flavour and simmered with love. My mother had ordered the chile relleno with a tamale and rice and beans and her chile relleno was literally just the paper thin skin of the pepper wrapped with an excess amount of bland milky cheese (probably mozzarella) and doused in an egg mixture. It tasted of a breakfast quesadilla filling instead of a proper chile relleno. And where was the chile?? A hearty poblano pepper needs to be the base of this dish. Not scraps off the skin and call it a day.

The beans and the salsa that was served with the chips were the only two things that had any flavour to them. I know Rancho Chico is settled in the middle of St. cloud where the locals don't know what real Mexican food is like aside from the passive weekend fiasco of "fajitas and margs", but this experience was not worth going back for another try. You're better off driving the extra couple of miles to Kissimmee for better options.

I will say however for the price of what you pay, you do get a LOT of food. Maybe a lot of unseasoned food, but a lot to fill you up. If you're looking for something to save on the wallet and get full, then this is your place.
