Taco Bell... is Taco Bell. If you're going here for high quality, authentic Mexican food... Don't. There are plenty of other restaurants in the area to serve that market. If you want good Tex-Mex at an affordable price, this is a good place to go.
The menu is extensive, with lots of options to appease many. I've read that Taco Bell is one of the best restaurants for vegetarians, and I'd believe it - if you like beans and cheese!
Seasonal menu offerings come frequently, including the current (February) special: nacho fries. French Fries - at a Tex-Mex restaurant?! It's not as crazy as you think, especially if you've ever eaten at a Del Taco, or at Taco John's (seasoned hashbrown tokens are the default side there). Nacho Fries are some of the best Tex-Mex fried potatoes I've experienced, when they're fresh. However, this is a problem for any fast food restaurant - the fries are best, fresh. The seasoning on Nacho Fries is a little sweet, a little spicy. Dip them in the nacho cheese, and they're a little piece of heaven (when warm and crisp).
If you're looking for an affordable, filling meal - Taco Bell is also a great place to go. $5 meal deal boxes are common, and when they include the churro-inspired cinnamon twists, you also get dessert included. If it's too much food, Taco Bell has one of the most expansive and varied dollar menu, and you can easily piece together an affordable meal for $5 or less.
If you're in the area and looking for a quick bite with Tex-Mex flavors, considering "thinking outside the bun" and going to Taco Bell.
Please note that between the St. Joseph location and the Benton Harbor location - you'll find better service at St. Joseph, but a recent remodel gives Benton Harbor the edge of better interior fixtures to enjoy your meal, plus outlets at tables for extended...

Receipt says marcus was my cashier, however a female voice war over mic & a female face, dark skin black lady w/ brown pony tail, black cotton jacket w/o name tag was at the window. Lady got smart/sharp in response 2 my Question of whether more than 2 orders cutoff ber placed at a time, or would we need 2 drive around again. She didn't answer the Question directly, saying "if you got another order say that!" I started snapping and let my friends order their food, as they were afraid these inconsiderate, rude, No-Customer service, disrespect might spit or spike their food. I get mine, a chicken Quesadilla as this is my 1st bite, pictured, it has eXactly 4 minute SHREDS of cheese 1 or 2 is probably a grill mark. I call the manager as soon as we left, she attempted 2 defend the lady saying she thought I knew & tried 2 argued w/ me that she didn't mean 2be smart. How I know I wasn't over-reacting b/c in. didn't even part attention 2 her but my car fool of folks go "ooooww.." "no she didn't" I'm eXtremely nonchalant. I didn't call asking 4 a refund, but to see if the rest of the staff would be like this ie. the manager or whom, posed as 1, who all needed do to resolve the issue was 2 do her job by making me feel confident 2 return, by apologizing& ensuring it would be handled to never happen again. I'm from Memphis & travel the nation Memphis didn't allow more than 2 orders per car we once, where as obviously other places such as st joseph or wherever...
Read moreOkay, listen. We all know why we go to Taco Bell—it’s that specific, glorious, late-night craving, and the St. Joe location on Niles Road is usually the answer. It’s exactly what you expect, but with a few typical fast-food quirks you need to watch out for.
The Good: When they are on their game, this place hits the spot. My Cheesy Gordita Crunch or classic Beef Burrito is usually perfectly made, toasted just right, and actually warm. If you manage to catch them during an off-hour (like 2 PM on a Tuesday), you'll zoom right through the drive-thru, and the staff is usually super friendly and quick. Seriously, I've had zero issues during those times.
The Not-So-Good: The moment it hits dinner rush (around 5-7 PM), strap in. I’ve definitely waited 15 minutes or more in that line, and that’s when the mistakes start happening. It’s like a coin flip whether my order is 100% right. They constantly forget my side of Nacho Cheese, or worse, skip the hot sauce packets I asked for, leaving me high and dry when I get home. Also, the food prep gets sloppy when they're slammed—sometimes my Crunchwrap looks like it was assembled...
