two stars. don't bother, you'd be happier anywhere else.
Culver's fast food chain is prevalent in the Midwest and generally speaking the food isn't terrible. that is the only reason this franchise in particular didn't receive just one star. they are all, however, irritatingly and meaninglessly overpriced. it never ceases to amaze me.
during our visit the cashiers were standing behind the counter in complete, cow-eyed, disengagement. this surprised me as the restaurant was very busy, but what really touched me was the way they stared at us, in line, like they didn't work there, for minutes. as it was difficult to determine which cashiers were open in the bustle of lunchtime, I had to finally approach one and ask if she was taking orders. two of the three of them were behaving this way, and had no one in their line, so everyone was crowded into one line that was beginning to taper through the front doors, blocking all traffic in the building. amazing. and as you've probably guessed, our cashier was inept at taking orders.
we received our food 20 minutes after ordering and it wasn't great but wasn't awful either. normal fast food quality. I would rather have spent my $35 for three lunches almost anywhere else, but I am the only one to blame for that.
finally, a word on their clientele. maybe it was the Sunday crowd, maybe the mother's day weekend traffic, maybe they just attract certain types, I don't know, but the people in this place were astonishingly rude and lacking in basic human decency. I apologize for criticizing the customers. I have never written about the clientele in any of my reviews to date, but the decorum of this group merited a warning to you as a potential customer.
don't bother, you'd be happier...
Read moreMy friend and I went here for dinner on a whim and we were very pleased and impressed with the food, so much so, that I found out that my friend has been ordering their shrimp basket meals for take out on a very frequent basis since then. Very nice place to eat and they have excellent desserts from what I've been told. I was too full to have dessert, maybe next time I'll save some room for dessert. The only drawback or negative aspect of going to Culver's to eat is that their prices are pretty steep, so if you don't have a chunk of change to drop in their restaurant, then you might need to rethink where you want to eat, especially if you've got a large family with children. I do hope everyone gets a chance to eat at Culver's at least once, so they can say tgey've had the pleasure and opportunity to eat...
Read moreWow. I had to pull over & wait with 6 other cars & didn't get the gluten-free bun with my chicken sandwich. Kinda hard to eat that with my bare hands in my car. Plus the bun is part of the meal. I actually only go to Culver's because they offer good gluten-free buns. Wish I had gotten that. While ordering I was told I could't order a small fry. They don't sell small orders of fries except as part of a meal. I was forced to buy a not very fresh medium fry and the bun was missing, plus at least 10-15 minute wait. I ended up hungry later but since I can't eat wheat I couldn't just grab other food. I hope this is an exception & not how things are done daily. The kids who were bringing out bags of food were hustling, I'll give you...
