This is a unique brewery unlike anything you'll find in the twin cities metro area. First, this brewery is chalk full of history. While this location is not the original brewery (which burnt down in the 50s), the building is about 110 years old, and is decorated in a way that does justice to the historic nature of the building. Second, the brewery really is more known for its imported European beer, including about ten that are on tap. The brewery does offer three of its own brews, which again, are historic in nature. Third, the bartender is friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the beers offered. Many of the beers are special releases and may be difficult, if not nearly impossible, to find in the USA. Prices are a touch on the high side, but after paying the tab, you'll still feel like you received decent value. The brewery does offer food, which is nice. There are multiple options (more than most breweries). The brewery offers flights (4 ounce pours). Only the beers on tap are eligible, and due to the extensive beer menu, you will assuredly find some beers you wish you could taste instead of buying a pricy bottle. There really are only three downsides to this brewery. First, the parking isn't great (on street parking only). Second, the Yoerg beer really isn't that good. Having only three beers is limiting, and the styles are not creative. Instead, they are definitely outdated (think beer designed for 150 years ago). Third, they charge two and a half percent credit card fee (with a tiny note on one page of the menu, but otherwise without disclosure until you receive your bill). I understand the cost of doing business is going up, but I really find this in bad taste as most people are paying by credit cards anyways.

You know that experience of stumbling upon a hidden gem for food and drinks and you are already planning when you can return and bring friends? That's how I felt in the first 10 minutes of being here at Yoerg's. The staff were all smiles and friendly/welcoming plus the cozy atmosphere of chairs, tables, beer decorations, Belgian decor, it was a great place to chill out. The menu is a bit overwhelming but in a fun way. Make sure you are not in a rush, spend some time sipping your beverage, and reading the menu and seeing the pages and pages of choices. And read the descriptions, there is a lot to learn. And that's just the menu, then there is a beer Bible book! They have a Lambic section of the beer menu, a Monastery section, Cider section, and so much more. They have a section for wine too. The food menu has several types of charcuterie and also different varieties of pretzel (regular with salt, parmesan, cinnamon, and hard pretzels) with authentic German mustard. Then there are Wurst sandwiches and other German food varieties. And then you turn the page.... and there's so much more under seafood. And there are pizzas. Pickled eggs. 7 types of peanuts! Sauerkraut. Even European non alcoholic beverages. Then you turn the page and there are special cheesecakes. I could just move in here and never leave. I had the German pretzel with mustard and it was the perfect blend of soft yet crispy outside with tasty mustard and not too much salt. I also had the black forest ham plate. I did a flight of Belgian beers and then selected one Belgian triple bottle. All were superb. I can't wait to return! Nov 2023: still incredible. The charcuterie boards are amazing

Located in the old Strip Club (steakhouse!) building, Yoerg has a lot going for it inherently by way of the beautiful and unique location and architecture. The lofted interior is really worth the visit alone, as well as the cozy and aesthetically pleasing decor and seating. The drink menu is fairly extensive and features a variety of high quality beer from around the world, as well as a solid selection of wine. MUCH to my delight, they also have three rather enjoyable non-alcoholic beers on tap, which is a very nice consideration that some local breweries could take a cue from (I'm looking at you, Tin Whiskers... "Well, we have water..." Really?) The food is... Good. It is bar food; don't get as high of expectations as the menu might imply, but it is flavorful (especially the krout and mustard!), relatively unique, and not terribly expensive. Service is varied. One of the owners, who tends to run the bar most often, is friendly and extremely knowledgeable, but tends to forget bits of orders and can be a bit overwhelmed and stessed at times. When two people are working, it is much better, but ultimately, regardless, the service never hurts the experience and if anything makes it a bit more fun. Overall, I would definitely recommend a visit to the Yoerg Brewery. It is a beautiful location, the drinks are world class, and your experience will definitely be worth the time.

This location is on the outskirts of downtown near the school and has lots of street parking and is close enough to Uber from downtown. As you walk into the beautiful Victorian mansion you feel as if you are celebrating Christmas with all the Christmas decor and the bright lights and the tree. The place is warm and cozy and a large bar stretches down the middle. The place is in an old Victorian mansion so you walk around feeling like you are in a home and on the left a beautiful tight spiral staircase to a mezzanine level where you can sip from one of many of their fine wine selections as you gaze down on the common folk. Or you can sit by the cozy fireplace and sip on a nice are or porter from which there are many to choose from. If you have never been hear this place is the ultimate location if you want to have beers, lambics, ales, or any type of beer brewed in monasteries or cool places. The Yoerg beer is good and the beers they carry are amazing and lots of them you may not see at other bars in Minnesota. Their wine selection is fabulous without the break-the-bank prices. Yoerg also has a great assortment of different snacks and food you can have with your fabulous beverage. If you are into beer or wine and have never been here or heard of yoergs this place is worth checking out.

Yoerg brewing is the kind of place that you can settle into a chair and become a regular quickly! It is a warm and cozy Brewery. Tom, the owner, is just the most amazing person. He travels throughout Europe to select the beers that are on the menu, and is also quite a wine connoisseur. On a slower night, get him talking about beer or wine, and you will have the most amazing experience with his stories. I have quickly fallen in love with this wonderful Saint Paul Brewery! I cannot recommend Yoerg Brewery any higher. Update: The bar/restaurant is now decorated for Christmas, and so romantic and fun! I was just there two nights ago, and Tom is slowly rolling out the dark beers from Europe (fitting for cold nights in St. Paul!). I had a Ukrainian Baltic Porter that just was.... unbelievable. So perfect for a cold and snowy night. I love the Yoergs atmosphere and vibe!

Really neat old place with lots of vintage atmosphere. Their beers are contract brewed but decent. Otherwise the beers are European. I got a bag of heavy duty pretzels to go with the beer and a little cup of mustard which was good but it's a huge amount. Don't think I'd do that again if I was flying solo or maybe if I was very hungry and didn't have another option. Older guy was bartending and he was a little slow but helpful and pleasant. There were a couple other middle-aged guys doing paperwork at the tables that I thought were the owners. But some other customers asked the bartender who owned it and he said he did. There is a kind of second level inside balcony accessible by wrought iron spiral staircase but it was closed and it wasn't that busy. I also bought some swag: nice beer glass, t-shirt and ball cap all with their logo.
