This has not been my best evening at Gulf Shores. Took my family (7 of us) to dinner. We got there early and got a table without much of a wait. The server seemed very harried in spite of the resturant not being very busy just then. She took our orders and put them in. About 20 mins later the food arrived, delivered by two different servers, neither of them our original server. My father's dish was not among them. We waited a few more minutes but nothing else came out. I did not see our server anywhere. I flagged down a different girl and asked about my fathers dinner. She went to check. Almost 10 minutes later, with all the rest of the food getting cold, his dinner finally arrived. We all set to and the food was very good. By then the place was starting to fill up with the dinner crowd. Finally caught sight of our server and waved her over, she presented our check and turned to leave. My husband stopped her and said we were considering dessert and could we get an order of beignets. She nodded and left. She came back a few minutes later with an updated bill which we paid out on the table monitor. We then waited for our beignets. And waited. And waited. Almost half an hour the waitress did not come back and no dessert came to the table. We finally got hold of a different girl and she brought our dessert. One problem. The beignets were raw in the middle, not fluffy and crisp but wet and doughy. And still no server to be seen. I told my family to go ahead and get in the cars and that I would find someone to see what could be done. No one came to the table and when I went looking for someone at the desk at the front no one was there either. I waited at the bar with the inedible dough, for almost 20 minutes until the bartender asked what I needed. I explained and he went to find the server. When she arrived she seemed very surprised that I was still there. I showed her the dough and she agreed they weren't cooked enough. I said if we could just refund the cost I would be happy. She informed me that since I had already paid they could not refund me their cost. I could either wait for a new basket of beignets or take a gift card to be used later. Dissapointed but in no mood to wait longer I took the gift card. Will probably give it to a...
Read moreSo my wife was visiting her mother in Lake Saint Louis, they wanted to try the Cajun crawfish and okra soup that I’ve bragged about. Unfortunately they didn’t go to the one my firm frequents weekly, because of course Saint Peters is closer. For some reason this location charged more than the Creve Coeur location, and of course more than their website discloses, so the bad taste was already bad before the first bite. To make matters worse, they charged a 10% fee for the take out. Again I treat my staff we will say at the minimum 3 times out of a month, and I ASSURE you with 27 employees our total can get up there, but the food and service is typically wonderful, AND I HAVE NEVER PAID A 10% fee!!!! Not once, NOT ever!!! So of course the wife’s NOT happy, therefore I am not happy!!! So I am here to shake hands and part ways to BOTH locations!!! My wife tried to explain we truly are valued customers, but the manager wasn’t going to listen. So to the manager of the St Peters l, MO location, you owe your Creve Coeur, MO location an apology for loss of repeat business. I realize feeding 27 individuals will not close the doors, but understand that my staff brags about the Creve Coeur location to clients, family, and friends. What a darn shame, because although SOME of your menu is overpriced, but my office INCLUDING myself truly enjoyed our lunches, and that’s not including the MANY happy hour, or late dinners if we were preparing for a trial. Dang I sure hate to say goodbye on this one, but you left me no choice, and for what $4.00? The more I write the angrier I become because of the thousands spent. So I’m closing, it’s not a sad goodbye it’s very bitter!!! Good guidance you petty person!!!!!
When it rains it pours!!!! Just got off the phone with my wife. The flavor was as I described, good portion of crawfish, BUT my wife had one piece of okra, my mother in law ZERO!!!! She said it should be called crawfish and celery with huge chunks of tomatoes. Thanks...
Read moreFirst off, I want to say that I know stuff happens. I also want to say it takes a pretty bad experience for me to write a 1 star review...but tonight's visit was just terrible and unacceptable.
Place was busy as expected, so we sat at the bar. One guy working was making all drinks for the restaurant and the bar. Took 15 minutes just to get a drink order in. When we ordered our meals, he went and made drinks for another 10 mins before putting our order in...so I'm not sure how or if he remembered everything.
We waited an hour for food. My girlfriend's meal came out correct...but mine was completely wrong. Since we waited so long and barely got waited on, I decided to try and eat it anyway. The presentation of it was terrible and it was so spicy I couldn't eat it. Shortly after, a completely different waitress comes up to us and confirmed we got someone else's meal. Where mine went, I have no idea. I told her I'd prefer the food I ordered. When she left, I figured she was off correcting the mistake. As time goes on, I realize she didn't do anything to get me the food I ordered. The bartender finally comes by and I tell him what happened. He just says "oh" with a blank look on his face. No apology, no asking me what I would like...nothing. At this point, I'm beyond annoyed. I simply told him to just charge me for everything else, but I wasn't paying for my meal...which I did not eat.
Also, the food we actually got was hardly worth the $50 charged. The meal pictured was what the other customer should've gotten. No one apologized, offered to take $ off my bill, nothing. Most people in my shoes would have been livid. Honestly, if I had cash on me, I would have left $20 on the bar for our drinks and left. I would've complained to a manager, but it was obvious one wasn't present tonight. The lack of leadership was clear.
I am not sure if we will ever be back to...
