I spent a few days in Tampa, Florida on a beer tour in support of my Great Beer Now blog and I was genuinely impressed by the craft beer scene in this west Florida city. But being the adventurer that I am, I was on the lookout for something to try in nearby cities and when I inquired with other people, it was recommended that I visit 3 Daughters Brewing in Saint Petersburg.
I took the advice I was given and I am glad I did, as 3 Daughter Brewing is, indeed, a memorable place. It is located in a warehouse district and the most impressive aspect is the sheer size of the place. There is a large indoor and large outdoor space and it could easily accommodate a few hundred people. This makes it perfect for a larger gathering or private parties. They even have a separate area with a stage for live performers, but again, this is no ordinary set up. The stage is elevated, like what you would find in a small concert hall, and there is seating and tables in front of it, perfect for those times when you want to sip on your beer and listen to the tunes from the comfort of a seat, as opposed to standing room only, like you commonly find in other breweries.
With entertainment, 3 Daughters Brewing is a game lovers paradise. You can play foosball, shuffleboard, Jenga, board games, darts, and much more. The giant connect four games are sure to be a hit with people of all ages. And the large number of games and fun make this brewery more family friendly than most. Oh, and they do serve some food of their own, plus they often host food trucks, for even more options.
Moving to the beer, guests will find about 15 to 20 different options and this includes not just beer, but also cider and hard seltzer. Again, the multiple options make 3 Daughters Brewing a great choice for groups because it means there is almost certain to be something that anyone in your group will like.
I loved the service I received at 3 Daughters Brewing. The bartenders had much knowledge to share and they filled me on the Saint Petersburg craft beer scene while I sampled several different beers. There were others breweries in the area with beer that I liked a little bit more overall, but the beer served at 3 Daughters Brewing is easily above average and when you consider the entire brewery package, this rates among the Tampa Bay area’s best places for beer, food, and fun. Give it a visit when you’re in the area and see...
Read moreI have to laugh a bit following our recent visit to 3 Daughters. We figured it must be crowded because of the scarcity of parking. As luck would have it…her perhaps the fact that I’ve just been living right…we got a spot right in front of the west entrance, which we figured was the way in. Inside it was tiny, dark, and, well, not all that crowded. We were scratching our heads for a bit, until we ordered some lunchables and once our buzzer went off, I was told to go out one door, turn left, and then head into another space where I would see the food counter. Okie dokie, I thought. But once I did that, my jaw dropped, because it’s like one of those crazy recurring dreams in which you keep discovering there’s a massive hidden room in your house. True story. There’s a huge beer room complete with stage, merch, bar, and, as per instructions, a food counter. I took a few snaps and texted them to my wife, expressing my amazement. “Girl, grab our beverages and come here! This is where the party is!” So we found new seats close to the tap handles (we smart like that), ordered more food, spent a ton of dough on merch, and left knowing that we will definitely be back on the next St Pete beer run. This place is amazing. I almost forgot the most important part, the beer! I did a flight containing Circle Hooked Hazy, the Kölsch, Summer Daze Pale Ale, and Florida Orange IPA. This was a rare 4-for-4 among the many flights I have swigged across the nation. I ordered up a pint of the Summer Daze, which chased the veggie tacos I had ordered. My wife had a chicken sando, and her white wine was an excellent pairing.
Carry on. You know what to do. Skip the “frunchroom” as we said back North, and head for...
Read moreI would like to disclose first off that I have never been to this Brewery and my review is not about the products that they are selling but about the character of the people who own and run this buisness. This business was to be the venue for a charity event on April 5th, and they canceled on the charity within 2 weeks of the event and on that same day, stole the idea of the event and rebranded it without the charity. I had posted on their Facebook asking about why the event had been changed to now exclude a respectable charity and had my post immediately deleted. The post was not hostile or offensive but simply questioned the change in events. Based on the large number of negative reactions they had but no comments, it is my belief that they are in the practice of review gating. I cannot speak directly to the interaction between the Brewery and the charity but I am sharing my experience with how the Brewery choose to respond when their actions were questioned. I am attaching a screenshot of my original comment that was deleted and the current comments which include the discussion of the cancellation by someone involved, in case that too is deleted. Based on my experience with this company and the information shared about how they work with other business and charities, this is not a place that is operating ethically and honestly and does not deserve...
