Let me start off by saying that the space and the bar itself is beautiful. Obviously being new it hasn't been "warn in" but its beautiful. The actual bar area, the top is so cluttered it takes away from how awesome that bar looks. Love the chalk boards and how they are easy to read. That's about all I liked about this place... the "manager" Rachel with the bad attitude should maybe look at a few other managers in other kava bars or even restaurants where managers are constantly in the public eye and see how they talk to customers. I'm not the type to even leave reviews ever, but the way she made me feel like I was wasting her time was reason enough for this entry. Not a smile, not an attempt to make a suggestion as I was intently reading the menu, nothing! Your customer service is for the birds. And I've been in the kava community for almost 3 years. The drink I got the Rasta sounded like it was going to be an awesome drink, it was SOOO gritty it was almost like drinking paste. I thought Bula's kratom was gritty. But this place takes the cake by far!! I couldn't even finish it, and as I brought my glass back to the bar half full, I was given a dirty look by none other than Rachel herself. Based off of the customer service and the drink I had, I wouldn't go back or recommend it to anyone. It's sad because as much as they had going on from the super sized chess board in the parking lot and the volleyball on a stick, I'm sure it would be a bad ass place. But BLEHH. The 2 stars I gave was for the overall look. If I could give her 0 stars for her lack of people skills...
Read morePersonally my favorite place to hang out and chill. Most of the people who come here are doing things with their lives unlike your standard bar. Additionally, you’ll meet people here from all walks of life and political spectrums who for the most part are able to entertain thoughts without accepting them and getting offended. There’s no ‘clicky’ vibe as with many other places and the ability to talk about difficult and controversial subjects with other adults is hugely refreshing in an overly-sensitized society. Can’t solve anything if you can’t discuss it, regardless of where one stands on an issue. That’s crazy to consider, I know 😆. The tea is filtered but not overly-so (people who drink a lot of totally unfiltered teas: it’s just a matter of time before all that sediment builds and backs you up 🤗).

Jam nights on Monday; having all musicians welcome to join can get pretty great. Open mic nights and karaoke every other Sunday is always good, and live music other nights of the week. Flow night every Tuesday to include local venders and DJs.
EDIT: the new location on 1st Ave has trivia nights on Monday; always interesting facts (the record for the most children birthed by one person was 62 set by a Tuscan woman named Gravata) and you can win a $25 gift...
Read moreI absolutely love this place. The kratom is good and so are the vibes. My friend and I come often as of recently. However, the service by Audrey yesterday (4/30) was awful. My friend and I sat down last night around 8pm. The bar was somewhat busy but not packed. Audrey saw us walk in and seat ourselves and continued her conversations with others. Which is fine. But then never acknowledged us at all. Waited on a few others that walked up after us. She literally made eye contact with us numerous times yet still ignored us. After 20 minutes of waiting around we left without a drink and went to Grassroots. Disappointing to say the least. As someone that manages two businesses myself I would want higher ups to know if my staff is friendly and attentive or not. Maybe it was just a bad night for her. We’ll try and visit some other time and give...
