Update: changing review to 1 stars as the response from the owner was fairly accusatory for no reason. The hairs were literal human hairs. I can differentiate between plant matter/ palm fronds vs HUMAN HAIR. They weren't even in the bread. Also, though I didn't like the chicken salad, that's not why I gave 2 stars in the first place. The food was just basic. I would've given a 3 if there had not even hairs. BUT I will not be returning nevertheless. Find better sandwich places, there's lots in the area.

First off, I took my order to go so I didn't notice any of these things while still in the restaurant. To start, there were three hairs in my Cuban sandwich - disgusting. They looked like beard hairs or something but after finding the THIRD hair, I couldn't continue eating it. The chicken salad is really bland and tastes solely of mayo. Also, the Brie and bacon sandwich was just okay but wasn't anything special by any means. I won't be back, but the service when I...

Met a friend there for a late lunch. The servers were kind enough to give us time to chat before ordering. We both ordered sandwiches. I asked if it came with a side and was told potato salad or coleslaw. I picked potato salad which was very tasty though it was barely 2 bites worth. I had to nibble at it to make it last. Had I known I would have ordered an actual side (though those are limited). The sandwich was good but not great. The roast beef while flavorful was chewy. The bread was delicious and fresh.

While the service started out great it kind of went downhill. Nobody checked back in with us after getting our food and despite raising our hands and calling out for assistance several times, we finally had to get up and to the counter to get help.

2 sandwiches and 1 can of soda cost $34. That seems a bit steep if you ask me. Especially considering a tip on...

City’s Bistro is hands down one of the best breakfast spots in all of St. Pete. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with consistent, friendly service and the kind of warm hospitality that’s hard to find these days. The owners and managers are actively involved, always ensuring guests have a fantastic experience — you can truly tell they care.

The food is absolutely delicious, with something for everyone, and the homemade complimentary muffins in a variety of flavors are such a thoughtful touch that makes the meal feel extra special. On top of all that, the prices are extremely reasonable, especially for the high quality you’re getting.

City’s Bistro is more than just a restaurant — it’s a true gem of St. Pete, and a spot we find ourselves returning to again and again. Highly recommend!!!

2022Nov. Very happy to see they're finally open at their new location. One of my top 3 spots for breakfast in St. Pete. Haven't been there for lunch yet but will be soon. Their cornbeef sandwich is amazingly good. The mayo on it is really spicy though. The service is amazing. 4.11.19 Food still yummy. Service is still excellent. Menu changed a couple of times since but still great. Love the homemade biscuit. Very good, well-prepared, and nicely presented breakfast. Good service. Daily specials available and posted outside. Should be posted inside as well even if it's just printed on 8 1/2 × 11, rather telling customers to go back outside to look. Will come back. Not sure why they don't have more traffic. Much less hipster vibe than Banyan next door? Stark white walls so not as warm and welcoming? Less space? Anyway, great food.

NEW LOCATION! Welcome back to 4th Street City’s Bistro. This hidden gem has popped back up across from El Cap in the same plaza as Stellie Bellies. We used to order from City’s weekly for our team and were sad when they moved to Central. The unassuming exterior and subdued marketing might get overlooked but make no mistake…This place is as good as it gets: homemade soups made daily, fresh bread, original experienced owners, great service. It is truly one of the only Mom and Pop traditional deli’s in St Pete. No gimmicks or flashy tag lines…just good food. Todays special was Tomato Bacon Brie soup and a traditional Reuben with sweet homemade coleslaw. It was indulgent.

We visited City's Bistro after visiting the Children’s museum in the area. So we were very hungry. We were immediately greeted and seated. This was my first time ever having a tampa style cuban sandwich and it was AMAZING! I mean every single bite was soo good. My 2 kid's had chicken tenders, but my picky 10 year old kept asking for bites of my cuban sandwich! They did give you a super tiny scoop of potato salad. The potato salad was very delicious I could have had a whole bowl of that stuff! The staff was very friendly, it was very clean, and the food was amazing. I would definitely recommend!
