Plenty of parking. We arrived on a Saturday around noon, the place was not busy, but this changed to about 6 tables/booths becoming occupied with 22 guests not including the 4 customers seated at the bar. There was a single waitress looking after everybody and she excelled at managing both food and drink orders. The waitress was one of the hardest working we have encountered on our trip thus far, and very polite.

I ordered the fish and chips reputedly the best in St Pete. Now i cannot support that comment as i have not tried every fish and chip meal in town, however, I can say the fish and chips are most definitely on my top two I have enjoyed. The portion was plentiful with one large piece fish and the perfect amount of fries. The batter was like no other I can recall, not doughy, crispy right til i had finished eating. Somehow the batter held its crispiness all the way. And i cannot say for sure, but i thought there may have been a subtle hint of flavour in the batter. The chips were perfectly cut to a standard size and of good length. They were not battered or dipped and came a nice, not over cooked, golden brown. They were not greasy, but moist and held salt and pepper well. I felt the price was very reasonable and recommend these fish and chips.

My wife ordered the French Onion soup and shared a bit with me. the soup came hot with a piece of bread smothered in cheese on top. The soup was very flavourful and a good value for the size compared to other locations we have visited.

My wife further enjoyed the noon hour Shepherds pie, but was unable to eat the entire portion, so, you guessed it, I tried to finish it off, unsuccessfully, however very much enjoyed the few bites i managed.

We purchased a freshly, just out of the oven, loaf of white bread to go for under $5. That evening we very much enjoyed the bread with our salad. The bread reminded me of mom’s bread from the 60’s. Delicious. The crust had one corner that was so very slightly darker than the rest of the loaf that helped bring additional great flavours to the loaf. The bread was a bit resilient to the cutting knife as it was crispy on the outside and like a marshmallow on the inside. The texture was fabulously soft and chewy. It felt good in the mouth and tasted simply wonderful. We saw a few people with bread take out orders and I suspect the limited number of loaves moves pretty quickly.

We also purchased a take out meat pie for dinner tonight, and i can’t wait, so, maybe lunch may be...

I had ordered takeout from here a few times and it was pretty good. Decided to go here with the family for St. Patrick’s Day recently. Huge mistake. It is expected to be busy on that day. Which it was. And they seemed to have a full staff of servers. We expected to wait a little bit for a table which we did. But we did not expect to have to wait two hours for our food. And our server had the personality of wet cardboard . I watched one after another as people who got seated after us got served before us. And mind you, we were a party of three and our order was not that complicated. There was also a large party of about 12 older women who they seemed to make wait forever, even though they were there before everybody else. I also noticed since I was seated right in line with the kitchen that they were just pumping out the to go orders—tons of them. And seem to be focused on this instead of the actual customers in the restaurant. I have worked in and managed restaurants before and I think it’s just as important to take care of your in-house customers as it is your to go orders (if not more). But a lot of restaurants around here, when things get busy, they shut off the Uber Eats/to go orders so they can make sure they take care of the in-house customers first. I realize that’s easy money for them and obviously they were taking care of the to go orders at the neglect of the people in the restaurant. After two hours, I finally inquired about our food and they said it would be right out. Again, after watching table after table who came in after us get served first, plus to go order after to go order which I know came in after we were seated….. By the time the food finally came out I was just disgusted and not hungry anymore from the aggravation. So we took it to go. Should’ve just done that in the first place I guess? There’s definitely as good if not better fair like what they serve here at other restaurants in Saint Pete, like Studio public house. That was my first and last visit to Jack...

Best fish and chips in town. It was previously and old Pizza Hut, that was refurbished as a grille in London, minus then commute and high prices. Prices are pretty decent, especially for the quality and quantity of food and service you receive here. Great staff and phenomenal chef !They care about their food. And want you to come back! If you are in St. Pete, please go here. It is worth every penny ! Their roasted veggies are heavenly ! Our kids even ate them up it's a great place to bring a date, family, and friends. If you go once, you WILL be back weekly. The food and staff and chef are wonderful, friendly, helpful. The food and service is outstanding. Prices are decent and you definitely get your monies worth ! I 🧡 this restaurant !!! And surprisingly, so did our kids ! The fish and chips come in this parchment type paper with the news paper printed on it ! And a white sauce with capers in it ? Bangers and mash, the works, all offerings are YUMMY and worth the money and time to go. Very peaceful environment. The staff are so friendly, and really care and make a huge effort to please you. The chef - is a perfectionist. Every meal comes out to you, looking like a piece of art! WE LOVE THIS PLACE !!! SO WILL YOU ! PLEASE GO HERE. WE MUST KEEP THIS PLACE, HAPPY, PROFITABLE, AND BUSY, TO KÈEP THEM IN ST. PETERSBURG, FL !!! LOOK IT UPNON GOOGLE MAPS AND PLEASE MAKE THE TRIP OVER TO EAT THERE. IT IS NOT OVER THE TOP LIKE MOST BRITISH OUBS HERE IN THE US. ALL THE LOVE GOES INTO THE FOOD. THE DECOR, ALTHOUGH VERY COOL AND VERY ENGLISH, IS 2ND TO THEIR DELICOUS OFFERINGS ! I PROMISE, IF YOU GO ONE TIME, GET A FISH AND CHIP, OR SHEPPARD'S PIE, OR REALLY ANYTHING ON THEIR MENU AND YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPOINTED ! AND WILL BE BACK !

WE 🧡 YOU...

It's never easy to find a British food place, let alone a good one. But Jack's is 100% by far one of the best "British" places ever. Jack's is small and inviting. Decor is that darker themed old style pub one would expect to see. A few booths and tables. Building looks like an old era Pizza Hut from back in the day. Anyways, the visits starts with a warm inviting welcome, prompt service, and then some of the best grub ever. Nice to see Fuller's ESB on tap. She had a 3 Daughters Raspberry Lemonade cider (that's a tart...umm tart lol). Sausage Roll. Yes, the UK pub fav is always a miss more than a hit over here on this side of the pond. But his one? WOW! That pillow but yet flaky pastry surrounds the most flavorful well seasoned hand made sausage I have ever had. Simply spectacular. Dijonaise dipper is good, I prefer HP dip but that's just me. She had Salmon and rice that was made to perfection. I wanted the whole menu, but alas went with the classic, and their signature, Fish & Chips. Glad I did! That was the most perfectly battered and cooked piece of haddock I have ever had. Not one single mushy area through the whole fish. Crunch for days man! The chips were also perfect in texture being crispy outside and soft inside. Then there was dessert. A couple shortbread cookies topped with chocolate, toffee, and caramel! There are no words to do this justice. They are simply amazing! We don't pay much attention to prices anymore. We just want to support as many non-chain food establishments as we can and whenever possible. But all of that food and rink for under $60? No way, but yet it's true. Service, food, and prices here should be way more than 5 star rated! Great job! Cheers! And we will see you again soon!

This place is amazing. I'd never heard of it until a coworker mentioned how good it was and we decided to try it out. It doesn't look like anything special from the outside, but looks can be deceiving. I noticed that the owner was going from table to table talking with his customers. When he got to us, we told him it was our first visit and he said that everything on the menu is freshly made. He also sent us some freshly baked bread with garlic butter. It was delicious. We started with the shepard's fries. They were chips (french fries to Americans) covered in gravy, shepard's pie meat and cheese. Really good. My husband ordered the fish and chips and I had bangers and mash. His came with the biggest piece of fish I've ever seen and there was enough to share. Delicious. My bangers and mash was equally as good and the sausages tasted like home. Also big enough to share. We finished up with the sticky toffee pudding and to no one's surprise, it was fantastic. I highly recommend Jack's London Grill. Stop by and say hello to the owner, Peter. You'll be glad you did.
